Acclaimed actress Julianne Moore and award-winning artist LeUyen Pham's adorable picture book encourages young readers to celebrate the uniqueness in themselves and others! If you have freckles, you can try these things: 1) Make them go away. Unless scrubbing doesn't work. 2) Cover them up. Unless your mom yells at you for using a marker. 3) Disappear. Um, where'd you go? Oh, there you are. There's one other thing you can do: 4) LIVE WITH THEM! Because after all, the things that make you different also make you . . . YOU. Review: A sweet book about freckles - Some people in my family have freckles (sometimes I get a few on my nose when I get some sun), and it would have been nice to have a book celebrating them when I was a kid. This is a positive, heartwarming book about accepting yourself. The illustrations are charming and the language is simple. It would be a great addition to any library or school. Review: Love this book! - This book is such a joy to read and it shows us all how important it is that we realize that people who love us don't see the things we see about ourselves as bad, they are just things. They make us who we are. :)

Makes kids feel good about being "me"; being different is okay.
This is an excellent book for young children. It should be in every library, home and public.

I wanted to own a banned book.
Julianne Moore (yes, the actress) was plagued with freckles as a child. And now her own child has freckles. She wrote this book to honor all their freckles. And the United States Military BANNED THE BOOK. 2025 is a weird time to be an American. But it is always a good time to have freckles!

A family FAVORITE!
This is a super cute and appropriate book. Illustrations and the story are great. It's one of our favorites and has been since the kids were 5 (they are 7 and 8 now) (I must make a side note here that the next book in this series - and there might only be two - talks about someone's 2 moms - or something to that effect. So, if you're conservative, just get this one.)

From a freckle face
Any child or adult should read this book. I went through the same experience with freckles. They didn't go away after 70 years and I'm so glad They are a part of my unique identity.

Great entertainment with a fantastic message
We enjoyed the excellent singing and talent of the kids. It was nicely directed and it was obvious that these kids put in the rehearsal time. The end result showed! We took our 4 year old and she was able to follow the message nicely.

You’re okay with or without freckles! In spite of having freckles you can enjoy your life. Real friends don’t care about freckles... Cute pictures and very important message all children should know!
