People are always floored when I throw a cardboard city party and teach their kids to use cardboard screws. They are without a doubt one of the best toys for kids and shouldn’t be a secret. I’ve reordered these 5 times because people love them so much. Usage : Twist them into cardboard. Done. This is usually easier if there is an existing hole to press them into. Adults can usually push them in and screw them with their hands, but for kids it’s much easier if they use the ‘cardboard wrench’ to pop a hole and then the hexagon bit to twist them in (even though most kids can twist the screw in with their hands once they get the screw stuck in the hole). These screws are pretty self-explanatory, but I’ve found that demonstrating how to use them and helping smaller kids (K-3) with their first few screws makes them much more likely to be able to do them on their own. Issues : I haven’t had any issues using these. They can be reused seemingly forever and they are very sturdy - I keep them in a box with other tools so heavy weights occasionally fall on loose screws but I’ve never had one damaged.

I've been using the Makedo Scru's for a few years in an elementary school setting. Kids love making with cardboard because it is fast and durable enough to make things that they can play with or in. I like that they are reusable, but cheap enough that if a student wants to take their work home I have no problem with it. As far as accessories go, in my opinion, the scoring tool is really amazing. The cutting part of the knife is only so-so. Students prefer using a CANARY style knife or heavy cardboard scissors. We have 3D printed some tools and screws with mixed results. You can use a 3D printed mini tool (from Thingiverse), but you should really go ahead and buy the screws themselves - they are slow to print and prone to breakage. The store bought ones are much easier to work with.

Got these for my grandkids and they asked for mor scrus because they built such big castles and forts. My daughter had fun doing this with the kids. Great way to reuse your Amazon boxes. Creative.

I have been telling EVERYONE I know about these! These are such a great tool and offers a great value. I love the other tools but this is perfect for my classroom without spending all of my dollars. My students can use them with ease and have built some pretty cool structures with them!

We used these screws with our 5-year old grandsons to build a cardboard geodesic dome fort. Our grandsons had a great time learning how to use screws, and the fort was a hit. At the end of their visit, the fort was dismantled to take home. These are great fasteners for cardboard projects. Good way to recycle cardboard boxes, too!

I loved these.

I purchased this for my seven year old grandson for Christmas. It was fun for him right out of the box. Within minutes, his four year old brother was creating right along with him. Adult uncles jumped right in to create as well. Excellent screen free fun!

My youngest has been a builder since I can remember. He especially loves cardboard, the moment a box or a weird piece of packaging comes in the house he gets a vision for its potential. We've had a small set of makedo pieces for years but it was never enough. He got a bunch for Christmas and they will get a lot of use. The new metal tools are safe and effective, an improvement I wasn't aware of.

This is one of those toys that children who are interested in STEM and generally love to build will never want to put down! Such a relatively simple product with so many different uses! The pieces are just big enough for smaller fingers to be able to grasp but small enough that they don’t get in the way. Whether you want to build a race car or a space ship console, Makedo have really hit the nail on the head with this one.

It was an xmas gift and has been lots of fun. We went to a den building party where these products were used. What an amazing idea. The boxes are always more fun!!!
