How do u know which size to get for your hair type?

It just depends on what type of curls/waves you want. I have long hair and like looser waves (although you can manipulate your hair with the iron to accommodate either loose or tight curls/waves) so I chose the 1 1/4" barrel, the largest. This size seems the most versatile.

What is the material? Metal? Ceramic?

I actually have 2 of these black and white hot tools curling irons but different barrell sizes and the coating has never came off and I've had them for at least 2-3 years thats why now im searching for the same but a bigger barrell.

how long do the curls hold? I have two curlers. For both of them, after two hours, my hair goes flat.

I use this iron for waves and they last all day (and usually the day after with slight touch ups), but I do use hairspray. Also, it depends on your hair type. I have naturally wavy hair, but flatten it out with a flat iron a bit before using this curling iron to minimize frizz.

Do any of these models have a clamp?

No these models do not have clamps. If you are looking for something with a clip try researching curling irons, curling wands do not have clamps.
