Review: This is a great set of cards. It comes in a really nice, attractive box. When I ordered this product, I didn't realize that the box it came in was also going to house the cards permanently and safely... a nice touch! You pull the little ribbon tag to reveal two decks of cards, separated by a built in divider. One deck is comprised of 1/2 common Eastern birds, 1/2 common Western birds. The other deck is comprised of birds found commonly across the continent. The illustrations can't be beat! They're beautiful. The front of the cards feature the wonderful artwork, while the backs of the cards identify the name of the bird, where they can be found, a brief description, and some other very basic information. It's just the right amount of information-not too much that it's overwhelming, but just enough to learn what you need to know. This is ideal for beginners who are still learning, and experienced birders who wish to test their knowledge. Because the birds are identified by name on the back, as opposed to right nearby the illustration (as in a book), learning by site is much easier--as you learn to identify without relying on the name written right by. These will be used in a State Park as an educational tool primarily, but they're very fun to quiz yourself with, too! Review: These cards are amazing! beautiful illustrations, a lot of information on the back of each card without being too too much, and they're great for adults and children! A lot of fun to quiz each other and learn new birds in the process

I was really impressed with these cards and they are exactly what I wanted. The first thing I did was to pull out the cards of birds from where I live. I made a recognition game of sorts with them. My granddaughters ages 8 and 12 enjoy playing with me. There is no winner. We keep track of how many we have correctly identified. We keep the games short to maintain interest. They have pulled out a card and told me that had seen that bird in their yard. Time with my girls is always priceless. The pictures of the birds are accurate and show both male and female. It also tells their differences. The flip side of the card gives basic information about each bird including habitat, range, description, size and voice. I have no problem reading the print but then I do wear โcheatersโ. They are easily stored in the box and looks nice on the bookshelf.

Such a lovely deck of info cards. The information is great for kids and adults alike and the images are beautiful. I wish they made these cards bigger (they are just so lovely). It is true what the one reviewer said - the images are quite small. This will be a great addition to our "Spring" collection.

My dad recently purchased a ton of bird feeders as he noticed the many different types of birds in his backyard and was curious to see what it would bring. Well, it brought a lot and we didn't know what half of them were and wanted to buy the right kind of food for them. These flashcards certainly helped and had every kind of bird we've seen so far and with accurate information too. We kind of made a game out of it. Every time we see a new bird, we search really fast for the flashcard that matches it. lol! My niece has enjoyed them as well and she's really learning things at a young age. So, everything is easy to comprehend too. We're certainly getting use out of them, to say the least.
