Waxhead Tinted Reef Safe Zinc Oxide Sunscreen SPF 30, Face Surf Paste

Minimal ingredients that are not toxic make this a 5 star product. You have to rub it into your skin. It won’t apply like deodorant. Don’t expect it to look like make-up with the tint in it. The tint simply minimizes the stark white of the zinc. You will look pale when it’s on. But if you don’t care what others think, you will be just fine. We use it for lake boating and skiing. It stays one well. Life is not a fashion show for us, so this product is just fine to wear on our face. It smells good, like slightly sweetened cocoa. It is hard to wash off in the shower at the end of the day. Does it block sunburn when we use it? Yes it does. Do we need to reapply it throughout the day? No we don’t.

This is the second time I've purchased Waxhead Tinted Sport Sunscreen and I absolutely LOVE it! It stays on my skin in the ocean, even for longer surf sessions (through sweat, salty water, and sand), is reef safe, and has skin healthy ingredients. I love that it's slightly tinted with a matte finish (versus some zinc oxide sunblocks that make your skin white/bluish and so shiny), and has a nice, subtle cocoa scent (from the cocoa powder). This sunscreen lasts a long time and is a great value for the price. I've also purchased their untinted sport stick and it's great too, but I prefer this one. I reached out to their customer service when I had a question about expiration dates, and the reply was very quick!

One of my favorite things about this product is that it doesn't burn or sting eyes. The other kids in our party all ended up with bright red sunburn around their eyes, but because I could spread the waxhead sunscreen right up to the lash line, we had ZERO sunburn, and ZERO crying about sunscreen in kids' eyes. Another big plus is that it is very long-lasting. I didn't reapply it on my kids as often as I had intended to, but the sunscreen stayed put and did its job all day. We might not have been as lucky if the kids had been in and out of the water more frequently, so I still recommend reapplying every 80 minutes. The biggest issue with the tinted waxhead is that it gets everywhere, and requires some special treatment with dish soap before laundering. I was willing to spend the time stain treating all our swimwear and hats, but if you want to avoid that, buy the un-tinted kind. Finally, this stuff smells like chocolate silk frosting when you're spreading it on. Yum.

This sunscreen is effective and smells like cocoa! Not a bad thing at all. The tinting helps hide the zinc caste and also serves as good indicator of coverage. The only negative is that it is thick and can be hard to spread if it's cold. Warming it in the sun before use helps. The ingredients are simple and my skin tolerates it much better than chemical sunscreens. Washing off takes a bit of scrubbing, but that's expected for any water-resistant sunscreen.

I love the texture & function of this but the smell was hard to get past. It’s supposed to be vanilla but had an almost sour smell to it. I have tried both the tinted and I tinted and they have the same smell. The spf is very effective & did not irritate my skin though.

I love this! I wear it everyday like a foundation. I’m pretty outdoorsy so it’s not like a glamorous thing But it makes your skin look so good and it lasts a long time.

Did a good job of protecting my arms from the sun on a 4 hours bike ride. My only issue is that it gets on your clothes and anything you touch. Like the product and will keep using.
