Follow instructions when applying.
Our lawn had an infection of nut sedge and I had tried other chemical products - with some success - but did not fully eradicate. Dismiss does the job, at least I do not see any growing this season. Be sure to follow all instructions carefully, as it is vey effective at additional vegetation removal if not followed carefully...this I know. But it does work. Should the nut sedge reappear I will probably use nematodes to control instead of chemicals.

True nutsedge control - kills the tubers like others can't
First, this is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It is a targeted, selective herbicide to augment other tools in your chemical toolbox. With sulfentrazone as the active ingredient, Dismiss will NOT kill crabgrass (use quinclorac for that). Do not use surfactant with a systemic herbicide like this, you'll prevent it from working as it should (might enhance foliar uptake in broadleaf weeds, but that's a different conversation). It did not harm my hybrid Bermuda at all, even at the max rate. Make sure your lawn is healthy and do not spray when temps are over 90ยฐ. So the details - middle Georgia, Blackjack Bermuda. I did not use a pre-emergent last fall or this spring because I needed to overseed. I spray with an M4 backpack fitted with a Turbo Teejet TT110025-VP. This season I had breakouts of crabgrass, dallisgrass, nutsedge, clover, spurge, and chamberbitter, along with a few random others (as expected with no pre put down). Two applications a month apart (.275oz/1000sq ft) and the nutsedge was completely gone - tubers and all. Clover and chamberbitter died off after 1 application. While not listed, it knocked the dallisgrass on its butt and I thought it was going to die out, but small patches fought back. My only issue with it and why I docked a star - The label says it controls spurge. It definitely slowed it down and killed a lot of it, but after 3 applications this year I am still finding young spurge scattered throughout the lawn. They're easy enough to pick out with shallow roots, but I was hoping for better results as it is specifically listed. But as part of a schedule with quinclorac this season, Dismiss did knock out almost everything I needed it to, especially the nutsedge. If that's your only issue, then Dismiss works great and would have gotten 5 stars from me. With prodiamine going down this fall and in spring, Dismiss will be a spot-treatment next season and may bring better results if the spurge comes back. Follow the label, know what you're targeting, don't expect it to do what it can't, and you'll be happy with the results!

Fantastic!
Killed the sedge grass that was on my berm. Tried for several years to kill it with various grass & weed killers but they never worked. This did๐๐

Waste of money
It killed EVERYTHING including the grass...except clover! Clover is listed as one of the weeds that this product is supposed to kill, didnt even change colors but the grass around is now dead! Not worth the bottle that its in!

Like an antibiotic for your lawn!
Live in NY and bought along with SedgeHammer. Haven't opened the SedgeHammer yet because Dismiss worked really well. In previous summers my lawn has had some Yellow Nutsedge which I controlled by carefully weeding as much of it as possible. This year the Yellow Nutsedge grew like crazy along with big patches Purple Nutsedge & Green Kyllinga. Dismiss pretty much destroyed these vial weeds within days while not killing any grass. Pros: Aside from working as advertised the product doesn't seem to have a shelf life. I keep a sprayer ready all season long whenever a patch of these weeds pop up. Only 2 Cons. The directions were way too technical for this average Joe. Spent a lot of time thinking about amount to mix with water fearing I might kill my bluegrass. I should not have worried. Just add .180 into the mixing device and add to gallon sprayer. I spot tested on both weeds and grass before diving in. While doing a great job on the sedge and kyllinga, I was surprised that it didn't kill crab grass unless I used a stronger mixture.
