Official Size, Composite Game Football

Before use, make sure the ball is properly inflated and not over inflated. Wipe the football down with a damp towel to remove the slick newness of the ball. Then you will recognize the quality tackiness of this composite leather. I thought this football (if good) would get 4 stars because it has black laces. After receiving it and using it, I think the black laces look better on this ball because of it's shade/color. It's extremely nice looking, and after getting used to it with about 100 passes throwing an even spiral became easier. It's flight characteristics are excellent. It flies at a consistent rate of speed (depending on your throw of course) and with a very good toss you'll imagine NFL films highlights of Joe Montana spiraling touchdowns to Jerry Rice... Would I prefer a ball with white laces that looks more like "The Duke", like the Wilson NFL Replica composite version? In terms of aesthetics, yes probably, but not for double the cost. This ball looks great, feels great to catch, easy to grip, kicks well, it is certainly game-worthy. If this ball is used on asphalt/pavement surfaces frequently, it will take a beating. I think it will be durable, but much happier and will live longer if only used on grass. I prefer and recommend Wilson footballs. For footballs, they are king. I do not recommend composite Nike Footballs. I've owned and used several Nike footballs, leather and composite. Their basketballs can be nice, but their footballs are not. Like most Nike products, it looks nice, it says something like "spiral tech" to make you think it will make you look great, but they don't seem to be crafted with the same Wilson feel and precision. I have not found any Nike composite football that is game-worthy. The Nike Official Leather NCAA balls are okay, but in my opinion not as good as the Wilson Official Leather NCAA footballs. The Ultimate Composite F1845 Official Size Football is made in china, and I'm not sure but I think most, if not all composite footballs that Wilson makes is produced in China now. Only the Wilson official leather game balls, as far as I know, are made in the USA. The ball I purchased came in it's box and was in perfectly new condition. Upon inspecting the ball, I worried about it's symmetry because it appeared that it could be slightly mis-shapen at one point, slightly but it concerned me. After several hundred throws I can't blame any of my wabbling ducks on lack of symmetry in the ball. Even though it appeared slightly imperfect, it has turned out to be great fun and a very high quality football, definitely the best composite ball of any kind that I've owned. It lives up to it's name. If you can get this ball for around $20, it's well worth it.

THIS IS LONG, BUT PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT BUYING THIS FOOTBALL: I wanted to get my friend a gift for his 18th birthday, and so I thought that an official sized football would be a great idea. He loves football, didn't have a really good one that didn't need to be pumped up every time he played with it, and along with the other things I got him, I thought that this would be a cute way to pull everything together in a nice gift bag!!! Okay, I have to explain one thing, I honestly expected it to be deflated, in a bag, at the bottom of a box. BUT IT WASN'T!!! It was in the coolest looking Official NFL open box, so the ball was protected, looked cool, but you were able to palm it in your hand. I was extremely impressed with the football, It is honestly the best one I've ever played with or seen. And the best part of the whole thing is that he loves it!!! I can't tell you how many times hes gone out with the guys to play, I am extremely happy with this football, If you are looking for an all around amazing football, nice grip and size, make the investment and get this product! Pros: Great price Amazing grip Looks awesome Takes what you give it Cons: This is an official size football, if you have small hands, then this is not for you. After awhile you get used to it, but it will take time to break in Other then that, there are no other cons to this product!!!

I've been looking for a good, regular-sized football that is of good quality and that has good grip so I can throw spirals with. This football is absolutely great for me. When I received it today, it was a little sticky but I just wet a wash cloth that I had and rung it out then I wiped the football down and the stickyness is gone but the grip is just absolutely amazing for me (with clean hands). I played football in high school as a wide receiver and let me tell you that this ball makes catching and everything just a lot easier. It's good quality, it's not cheap. It's nice and I think good for the price too. Only bad thing I have to say about it, is that it looks like some thread is coming out of the laces or whatever you call them but I'll just leave it alone until it decides to fall off by itself. The amount of air that was already in the ball when it arrived is perfect, I didn't have to pump it up or anything. I took some pictures of me holding it and with it resting on my kicking tee, so go look at those if you want and you can get an idea just how good of quality the ball is. I say 5 stars! I LOVE this football.

As a family we like throwing and kicking the football around the backyard or park as a fun activity, and this football is perfect. It's look, size, shape, weight, and feel are just right, the grip is good, it's durable, throws tight spirals, and overall has the look and feel of a 'real' football. It also feels like it would be good for more competitive play, but that's more of an educated guess based on past experience. We only use it casually, but also wanted it to be a reasonably priced ball that also feels 'real', and this one fits the bill perfectly.

First, it's very nice looking - could pass for actual leather at a look, until you actually feel it. Composite always has a slightly more 'rubbery' feel than leather, which is not necessarily a BAD feel, just different. The sewing and symmetry of the quarter-panels is excellent, and it really does have a good grip, with realistic looking pebbled surface, not sticky or tacky at all, and none of the slickness that we used to have to rub off leather footballs. This is my first experience with composite - as young sprouts we played with leather (rarely - who could afford that?), or rubber (pretty much all the time - do they even make those anymore?), and it seems like a really terrific alternative. It just SEEMS like a real football, and especially for kids that's a wonderful thing. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I have no idea of its durability yet, as composite. Still I would not hesitate buying one with the idea of getting one year of hard play out of it. PS - it DOES NOT come fully inflated! You NEED to expect to pump it up some. Be ready.

I originally saw this ball at my buddy's house and asked him where he got it and how much it cost because it felt so nice. I ended up buying one within the week and then when my semester started back up my roommate asked me if it cost around 50$ because "that's what it feels like". I love the tack, the laces, and the feel of this football. Spirals come easily and it is nice to catch. What I don't like is going to my local sports store and paying at least twice as much for a ball that is hardly as nice in the hands as this one. Everybody has their preferences but I doubt you will be disappointed with this ball.

I was a little hesitant at first because this ball is just so cheap, but boy am I glad I decided to get this over the high cost balls that I've had before. Even if this ball only lasts a summer or two it's still cheaper to buy this ball several times instead. This ball is the official size of the NFL and its grip is absolutely phenomenal. Also, because it's bigger it may be hard for younger kids to throw it, but if your an adult just wanting to play some backyard football with your buddies like me it simply doesn't get any better than this. Give it a shot you wont be disappointed, and for the price you wont find anything better.

ZThis is the best twenty dollar football i have ever played with. Of course it doesn't have the feel of real leather, but lets get real honest here: if you aren't playing football as a profession or have money to spend on a $100 leather ball, this is the next best thing. Holds up to wear and the black laces stay a lot nicer looking than the white ones. The ball stays really sticky, and is easy to catch. If the ball gets wet, it doesnt ruin it. All around, this ball is great.
