Mexican Vanilla Totonac's Pure Vanilla Flavoring, 33.2 Fluid Ounce

This is a great product. I have ordered it many times. This is pure vanilla no additives made in Mexico. Contains no cumarin and has a great taste. It also has the best price. It’s very easy to use doesn’t leak. It has a nice brown color And smells wonderful.

I was introduced to this vanilla when my relatives brought it back from a cruise to Mexico years ago and I've purchased it on amazon ever since. The flavor is so much better than those little bottles you get at the grocery store, and the value for the size is amazing!

First off, kudos to this company! This was not an Amazon Prime order but as soon as I ordered this I received a notification that they shipped it the same day that I ordered it and I got it about two days after I ordered it! I was hesitant to order it because, ever since the fair trade issues arose around vanilla, I've been paying the high prices for vanilla from places like Madagascar. The prices are unreal now. I had never heard of Mexican vanilla before so when I saw this and I saw the quantity that I would be getting for that price, I couldn't believe it. I've seen Madagascar vanilla for this price but for only about 8 ounces or less. I read the reviews on Totenac's and went ahead and took a chance on it. It is really lovely! It has a slightly different flavor profile than vanilla from other countries but it's still potent and aromatic and delicious! It's not watered down. Recently, I've started a ketogenic diet and I was looking for a really good and high-quality vanilla to use in my Bulletproof Coffee and in some of my other lower carb, sweet recipes that require vanilla. I needed a good quality vanilla that didn't have extra carbs and sugars in it and this fit the bill. It is really great. Plus, before I started a ketogenic diet I used to be a baker. I still am. Now I just do it on the holidays for friends and family. I'm really picky about my vanilla and I never use artificial or low quality ingredients so when I say this, take it as the truth: I would use this in any cake, cookie, candy, or pie recipe that I have and be assured that it would be of great quality. This is a really great product that I would gladly order again. In fact, my mom is a foodie so I will likely be ordering some for her birthday coming up soon. She loves getting "goodie boxes" filled with with great products/ ingredients to try and I want this to be among them.

I’ve gotten vanilla from off US shores before because it was supposed to be “authentic” vanilla, curated by sources reputed to be the best vanilla EV-ER, and I’ve found all of them to be really icky. Not this! This is the best vanilla I’ve had by far! As for the size, that too made me gun -shy about buying it because I thought, “what if this turns out to be icky like those other not-store-brand vanillas I’ve had, and if I don’t like it I’ll have a ton of it just taking up space in my pantry?” My friends, fear not. I’ll use every drop of this. It adds this wonderful, subtle something to my baked dishes that exceeds the actual taste of the vanilla. I highly recommend it! You will thank me later.

There is a difference between vanilla flavoring and vanilla extract. Extract MUST be made with alcohol. The higher the alcohol content, the purer the extract. I despise the flavor of alcohol (esp. since that is the flavor baked goods get when they go "bad." I don't know how anyone can stand that stuff) Most professional bakeries use extract. This product is water based flavoring. Most Mexican vanillas are flavorings, not extracts, in spite of what the labels say. It is much stronger and cleaner in flavor than extract since there is no alcohol. However, since there is no alcohol, there is a lack of preservative beyond the concentrate itself, so if there is a tiny breach in the bottle ,or if the product has gone past a certain date, it will go bad and start to taste strange. I have used this particular product since 2009 and Mexican vanillas in general since 2005.

I was looking for pure vanilla and this states on the ingredients list that it is vanilla extracted from vanilla beans. The Amazon description says there's alcohol also but I opened the bottle and could not smell or taste any alcohol (I have a strong sense for smelling things.) This is a product from Mexico where they have superior vanilla. I haven't used it yet but will do so this week. I gave it 4 stars due to the discrepancy with the ingredients. It has nothing to do with the quality of the product. I am satisfied with the description on the bottle and hope that Amazon changes the ingredients description.

Wifey loves this brand pert of her baking essentials . I started to use this as substitute for creamers in my coffee. So she took notice and I used it so much I had to order. Again this is one of her essentials along with happy wife happy life. 😊 shout out to Mexican Vanilla Totonacs . Amazing product !!! Taste amazing too .
