Is it a true dash mount or is it primarily a windshield mounted camera?

The original mount is suction type - to glass. However, in my state, any windshield mounted devices is illegal. So I had to resort to mount the cam in other ways...

Does it require wiring?

You only need to power it up via the supplied cigarette lighter adapter, or use a USB cable if your car has a handy USB outlet nearby. (USB adapter cable not supplied but readily available from any electronics store.)
