Works as advertised
I bought the 100LED Kobra and this item to compare. The Kobra covers a lot more square footage and is bright enough to use during the day without struggling to identify any markings. This little light will bring out the same stains but you have to work a little slower and spend more time going over the same areas to id the same things. When the room is dark, I would say the one time home user could get by easily with this smaller light, however the price point is horrible unless you really insist on USB rechargability then maybe it might be worth it for you. For $6 less you could buy the Kobra and use rechargeable batteries too though you would need to charge the batteries with a standard product. Both are quality made of metal and long lasting so long as you don't store the item with the batteries installed. This is why I was a buyer... my old 100LED unit leaked battery juice all over the inside electronics and ruined it.

Best UV light for hunting scorpions
We live in Arizona and have lots of Arizona bark scorpions where we live. My wife and I hunt the scorpions in the vicinity of our house to try and control the population. We've killed several thousand scorpions over the last 10 years and we've tried quite a few black lights. This is by far the best black light for scorpion hunting because: 1) it has the right intensity and frequency to make the scorpions glow brightly; 2) it puts out enough visible light so you can see where you're walking; 3) it's conveniently rechargeable; 4) it casts its beam farther than any other black light we've tried; 5) it's small and tiny but mighty and easily fits in your pocket or hangs by lanyard off your wrist. This is the only blacklight I will buy from now on.

Stands up to extreme environments
Last year in September (2023) I was on White Top mountain is SW Virginia at about 5000ft elevation. I used this flashlight to identify florescent mushrooms for photography. I lost the flashlight that year. 3 days ago (Aug 12 2024) I was once again in this region. My friend and I cover several miles looking for unique fungi. I set down to take a photo and there was my lost flashlight! It was covered in dirt and leaves but as soon as I saw the word Bolder I knew it was mine. I picked it up and hit the power switch and it came on immediately! I was gob smacked! I brought it home cleaned it up and put a fresh charge on it. Finding my working flashlight a year later in a national forest is unreal. Needless to say I recommend!

This light has a battery that is not replaceable but otherwise it's great.
This UV light is only second to a custom one I have. The led is much brighter than the generic multiple led lights you see for sale. The switch can turn on in a pocket on its own but is relatively secure. Charging is through USB micro port which is usual for lights at this time. The ONLY thing I don't care for is that the unit is sealed so the battery is NOT replaceable. Otherwise this would be a five star review. It's relatively new to me so I can't judge battery life but so far so good. Remember, a lot of what you need UV for is not so much the power (brightness) but the wavelength, so make sure this wavelength will suit your needs before you purchase. Size is compact so it's a good all around light.

Excellent, quality UV light for a fair price
After discovering scorpions in our AZ home, thought it would be best to invest in a little detection hardware. I've had cheaper UV lights before, but this is certainly more powerful than a standard cheap light from a box store, and absolutely more durable. It has a pretty narrow focus of light, but that means it REALLY lights up when detected under UV. I wish it were USB-C charging, but Micro USB is fine (still have these laying around). I've purchased other lights from this brand and it's definitely worth spending the extra few bucks for something with a quality build.
