Not sure about the quality
I am not sure if it’s original !Bought before DST5010 and it was amazing. But this is next model and bit expensive than previous model. Body looks cheap and paints are smeared here and there and water is leaking ! Looks like fake

Decent
2 months use - good heat however sometimes throws out murky water and leaves marks on the clothes

Not as good as old model
Bought this after reading numerous reviews and the fact that I had just disposed of a previous Philips iron after 16 years hard work. This new one heats up quickly, but makes the most awful clicking noise when used. I put it down to newness, we shall see. It pressed my clothes well initially, bit after half an hour it made a huge hiss and deposited water onto the ironing board. Thankfully not on a garment!! Yes, I had read the instructions and followed them carefully. Also, no filling cup was enclosed or a way of keep the cord secure. My last Philips had a piece of velcro tape which held the cord neatly in place without kinks. Luckily I kept the measure cup. Overall, not very impressed, expensive for the job hopefully, it will do.

A good iron
This is a good iron with generous steam power. However the instruction leaflet is useless. Most of it does not apply as it is written in many languages and the illustrations are not helpful. It takes much unfolding and refolding to use the sheet. A book format would be so much better. I am still not sure how to use the descale button.

Effortless to use.
I bought this to replace similar that had been lost to flood water. Excellent smooth performance. I expect it will last many years, as its predecessor did.

Hidden extra
Well I was surprised when I opened my steam iron as it had water in it. How long it had been there, who knows? I read on the tiny print tab that Phillips water test all irons. On first using it, a lot of calcified debris spurted onto my clothes, otherwise it seemed ok but no water is coming out of the spray…maybe blocked. Really surprised as I would imagine Phillips would have emptied the iron before packing. I always empty an iron before storing it away. Not sure if I’m happy.

This is Not an Auto- Off Iron.
I like Philips irons and did not waste time looking at other brands, but was looking for an Auto Off Iron for safety and efficiency. One Question and Answer said it was, another said it wasn't....... both Philips personel. So I bought this one from Argos, plugged it in without undoing it too much, left it alone twice, but it does not switch off after time gap. My old Red and Black Philips iron did. BOTHER! If you're not used to that it would probably be fine.
