Worthy guitar upgrade
I purchased these to replace the tuners on my Epiphone Les Paul Special II. It is an inexpensive guitar and plays pretty good. The factory tuners were not the best though. I saw several reviews on these and decided to give them a shot.I did have to open the holes up for the tuner shanks to I believe 10mm. This was the hardest part in that you could really screw up your guitar it the drill grabs or wrecks the finish. Drilling may not be necessary on all guitars. The original tuners had 2 alignment holes and these only have one in a different radius. Again, what to do... People on YouTube filled the extra holes with pieces on toothpicks. I did the same and it turned out nice enough. I touched up the heads with some blue Sharpie. You may need to drill a hole for each alignment screw too. Just make sure to carefully align the tuner before drilling the alignment holes and don't drill through the front. Put a piece of tape around you drill as a depth gauge.Once installed the tuners work great and look great! They are a lot smoother than the cheap factory ones. when tuning. They seem to hold the guitar in tune better as well. It was a fun improvement and I enjoy modding inexpensive guitars and making them my own. I put the money were i find the value and aesthetics. If you have an old guitar kicking around or a new one that is tough to tune, give these tuners a try!

Gotoh Machine Head Tuners
Gotoh Tuners are always a solid choice for an upgrade or replacement. They have been for decades. Quality, Japanese manufacturing yields little backlash or play in the gearing. Tuning is fast and accurate and just as important, the tuning holds true. Very heavy and solid construction. Do yourself a favor and swap out your inferior or worn tuners for a set of Gotoh tuners.

These are NOT LOCKING tuners!!!!!
Good tuners, but they are not locking. I noticed another cuisine reporting the same thing. I'm nit going to return them because I don't have time and they are okay for what I am doing. Settler needs to correct their ad though!
