Clay Pebbles

I didn't want to use soil for my microgreens so I thought I would try these. These make the whole process so much cleaner and easy. There is also less waste.

Value for money, size, color, quality and functionality of this product was great. Make sure you rinse them out well!!!All in all it great!

These are working great for my experimental Kratky hydroponics system. I've had great success with them growing Choi Sum, Lettuce, Green Onions so far. I'm using 2 inch cups for the plants and this is working well but I would like it more if the assortment of sizes included more of the smallest size. But I suppose that's because of the small cups I'm using. If I were using larger cups, I would probably think these perfect.

I went nuts trying to work out the volume of these to know how much to order. This bag is about enough for two dozen 3" net pots, along with a 1" rockwool cube. I soaked the pebbles in my nutrient solution before filling the net pots and nestled my (also soaked) rockwool cube in the top layer. The 3" pots fit perfectly in large mouthed mason jars, which I covered with a black sock to cut down on algae growth. I filled the jars with enough nutrient solution to reach the bottom 1/4 inch or so of the net pot (so the first layer of pebbles was submerged). My lettuce seeds are sprouting up nicely!

I use these in plants but bought them for essential oils. A few of them on window sills with lavender and/or peppermint oil drops keep crawling bugs out. I freshen them weekly.

I first found out about these little clay balls on a You Tube video to grow orchids in water. The orchids looked so healthy I wanted to try this myself. My little orchid went from yellow leaves to green and new leaves are growing too! All this wonderful change in less than 2 weeks. The little clay balls are easy to use and affordable too. I bought the large size bag and have a lot more orchids I want to grow this way. I added the photos showing how I used an empty plastic bottle with holes drilled in the upside down upper half that holds the little clay balls and the plant. The balls absorb the water in the lower half of the bottle. I’m very happy with this product and glad I gave this a try.

There were quite a few that were broken. Other than that, they were fine

At first, I was a little bummed looking at the size of the bag, but I got over that real fast when I realized how far this goes. I’ve been using this in the bottom of my seedling pots as additional drainage, as well as my bigger nursery pots too, as my little child helper (and I, too, if I’m being honest) have a bit of a heavy hand with watering at times. But this makes a big difference. I am loving the additional drainage and I couldn’t beat the cost. Even compared to other sites located overseas, this was a way better value overall!

Appears to work well for my hydroponic garden. They are way easier to clean and work with than the very tiny ones that came with the garden.

Okay overall. But smaller size than expected - not 2 liters, as mentioned in description, but 1 liter, which actually does equal 2,5 quart
