The kit arrived quickly and well-packaged with everything shown: multiple clearly labeled JSP testing acid bottles (10K through 22K/24K gold, silver, plus the neutralizer), two large premium 2x4" testing stones with non-slip backing, and easy-to-follow instructions. I’ve now tested several pieces of gold jewelry in different karats (10K, 14K, and 18K), and the results were consistent and matched the hallmarks where present. The color reactions are easy to read, and the larger testing stones make the process much safer and less messy than smaller stones I’ve used in the past. The neutralizer works great it quickly cleans the stone between tests so there’s no cross-contamination, and the stones wipe up nicely for reuse. *NOTE* PLEASE USE IN WELL VENTILATED AREA

This gold testing kit works great. The stones it came with are very durable and the perfect size. Very simple to use as well due to clear instructions. Would buy again.

Everything about this kit is excellent, except for one tiny detail – when I opened one of the scratch plates for testing gold, it had some residue or some type of crud on the surface – it wasn’t the clean black testing plate I expected and I’ve seen before. Luckily they provide three or four of these testing plates, which is nice. The kid includes acids for 10K, 14K, 18K, 22K platinum, silver, and a neutralizing acid. I’ve already put this into use and it has revealed that a necklace I thought was just gold tone is actually 14 karat! I was using years old acid to test my goal which is a no no. You should be replacing your gold and silver testing acid every six months or so. Well worth the investment, especially if you find yourself in a situation like I did – especially with unmarked metal, You might be in for a lovely surprise. If you don’t know what the gold parody might be, lightly scratch the piece on the stone and start with the lowest purity acid - 10K. If the acid doesn’t destroy that gold scratch, move up to 14K. Then move up to 18K (you lucky lucky dog!) if you don’t see any smoke or gold disappearing from the initial tests (the acid will destroy the metal if it does not have the level of purity it’s test testing for.)

I was a bit disappointed in this product. We have bought acids from them before, but the 18K did not perform as previous bought. The Silver Acid is shown to be red in the instruction manual. However, when you use it on a black stone, the color does not show up. Perhaps instead of sending two black stones, maybe one should be white, so that the colors show up better. It does if you use it directly on the product itself. I prefer not to do that as acid has a tendency to leave a mark if the item is not good. This does have effect on costume jewelry and can ruin a piece. However, it did work for 10K and 14K. The stones also are different from our original stone and I feel it doesn't quit react as well. It has a slightly soft top layer and I am used to a solid hard layer. I was also expecting larger stones, but that was my fault for not reading closer. I will keep this kit as a backup for when I travel, but will still use my regular stone at home. I did like the variety of acids, which had some I never had before. It is ok for a starter set.

I first tested a trinket and it showed no gold. Then I tested an old ring I'm thinking of selling. Used 10K solution first showed it has gold, then 14K and it showed it had gold so I tried 18k and it dissolved so did not have that much gold. Great to know the ring is 14k so worth more.

Arrived with a leaking bottle which was obvious with the staining on the internal packaging - with drops of acid through the bag and on the other bottles. Due to travel and other things I didn’t get to open the package until today (a month after arrival) and I have lost out on the return window. What a scam for $75 AUD and have no avenue to escalate. I don’t feel comfortable having leaking bottles in my house
