Akai Professional MPC Studio - MIDI Controller Beat Maker with 16 Velocity Sensitive RGB Pads, MPC Software, Assignable Touch Strip and LCD Display

This is built really well, the pads are superb and are highly responsive. All buttons feel premium and very well made. The little screen helps to quickly navigate through the software and the dial you use feels robust. If you want to make beats but not sure if you want to go all in at first then this is a very good introduction to MPC hardware. Just remember that this is for those that want to use it at a computer and not as a standalone workstation. If that's what you want I'd look at the MPC One or Live. I'm very happy with this product and highly recommend it. I'm really impressed with the build quality.

Beyond words ... Keep calm and AKAI

As per usual AKAI have made a great product here .. Solid and made to last, yet not too heavy whilst feeling very slick and well designed . The MPC Studio 2 is AWESOME :) I love the workflow and it marries well with the software .. Wow you get a lot of stuff with it .. The software manager definitely makes the installation easier and the studio producer grade samples and instruments are serious weaponry :) .. I've loved how the understanding "unfolded" as I've spent time with it . A lovely experience .. Sorely tempted by the screen on the MPC studio black now :) AKAI if you're reading this I'd love to field test and review any kit you throw at me :) HAPPY CUSTOMER :)

Surprisingly hard to use if you have no idea how to use it. Software works perfectly but you must REALLY need one to get it

Nice handy bit of kit

I bought this from Amazon. What a mistake. Pad 5 was flaky from day one. After 4 weeks or so it just started sticking all the time. Gradually more of the pads showed the same problem. I've been in conversation with Akai tech support and the service is so slow (weeks to get to this point). They can't resolve the issue and have confirmed after various MIDI tests, that the unit is defective and a refund from Amazon is a possible option. By rights my contract is with Amazon who I bought the unit from but because the invoice is older than 30 days the Amazon robot isn't interested. So I'm stuck with a £150 unusable lump of plastic. Update: I eventually got permission to send this back to the supplier for repair. The turn around was incredibly fast. Apparently they replaced the main board. As soon as I got it I back I plugged it in and tested it. Still does not work properly. Pad 5 still sticks and so does Pad 7. It's hopeless. Why couldn't the repair engineer just switch it on and try using it! What do I do now? Pay to send it back yet again? I suspect this could go on until the warranty runs our.

Id give it a 5/5 if the vst for fl studio worked but it doesnt. If you're using it as standalone for the MPC2 software then it is 5/5

Is good for spend free time, but honestly to work siriously with it, it's a pain in the @**.

It’s everything I hope it will be although the screen is very very small but at the same time the screen being small isn’t necessarily a bad thing because it works with the MPC sequencer so you kinda do things off a muscle memory honestly but it is very nice it’s very sturdy and I love it. I think you really get a good bang for your Buck with this.
