I received this item yesterday (05/03/25) and installed it successfully a few hours ago. First of all, the packaging is protective, was well thought out, not too much useless info. I re-watched the installation video again. All pretty straight forward. The skill level required is easy to moderate. If you are the type of person who struggles with a screwdriver, don't bother trying to install this on your own. The supplied piggyback wire was easy to install, took a minute or less, attach the power to the new part and it's ready to re-install. Make sure that the old housing matches the new one, move the orange clips over from the old housing and pay attention to the small plastic protrusions in both housings and be sure they match, same angles, same placements and such. I have to say the only frustrating part was getting all the wires tucked in and out of the way of the four mounting connections. That alone prolly had me cursing for about 15 minutes then BOOM it all just slid into place, and it locked into position. don't give up and don't force anything. Upload the program on your phone but you don't have to. You can just remove the card and stick it into your laptop and then upload 'Potplayer' onto your laptop. Format the Micro SDS using either the program installed in your phone or you can do it on your laptop. I can't say the phone app is all that easy. Connecting it with the camera feed requires some fiddling but I'll figure it out. Don't upgrade the card before the set up. Get it going with what's supplied, format the card and when it's all complete, put in a bigger card if you feel the need to. Picture is amazingly clear. Overall, I'm very happy with the quality and that it's in and complete.

Update (Sept 2025): This camera worked great for about 12 months, then behavior became sporadic. Various times the camera would not record, and I could no longer count on it to capture video while driving. I read several reviews that also had failures after one year of usage. I did get support from their email address, and they identified an "crimped" cable inside the camera case. Since it was beyond the one-year warranty, I had to pay for a replacement camera. My recommendation is to verify your camera is working properly as you approach the one-year warranty. Original Review (April 2025): This camera is great. Just what I wanted; a simple way to record the crazy drivers on the road with me :). I watched some install videos, and that made the install really easy (15min) in my 2023 Tacoma. Camera picture is crystal clear. I really like that there are no cables and it blends in with the original truck. Two items to be aware of, and it would not stop me from buying this. 1) If you use a Mac, you will need to download a third party tool to watch the videos. There are many, but I used Elmedia. 2) As mentioned in other reviews, it’s annoying to have to disable cellular data each time you want to connect to the camera. Again, neither of these are “game stoppers” but something to be aware of. Overall, I love this thing. I had other cameras with cables running all over the vehicle and this is SO MUCH better. BTW, I did not buy the rear camera, only the front.

Wow! That's what I say, SO FAR. This thing was super super easy to install. In fact, I had it fully in stalled in less than 5 min. I did however, review the YouTube "How To" video on installing this. Was probably the easiest installation of anything I've ever installed in any vehicle. The video it produces is awesome. You can adjust the resolution across a number of settings. Really flexible! If this thing will last me for at least 3 or 4 years, I will be one happy camper. I can't say enough good things about this but then, I'm in DAY ONE of installation and function. Now, it will remain to be seen how long it lasts me. If it fails or starts to malfunction in some way, I'll be back here with a negative update.

2021 Tacoma Limited - installs pretty quickly (less than 10min) and functions as expected. Get about 3 or 4 days of recording before it starts to record over, which seems to be adequate so far. It did slip off, left hanging from the wire due to the OEM bass from JBL stereo system. Seems to be better now as I put a drop of clear silicone at the four connection points when I reinstalled it. Note - be sure to tuck the wires in along the center to allow it to set flat and level on glass. Little bit of light blue flashing lights when it's recording and turned on but is blocked by the rearview mirror for the driver and all passengers I've asked about it said they don't even notice it. You'll see a light flashing blue light on the passenger seat when it's really dark out from time to time. Great high quality image and simple install. I recommend it to everyone and would buy again without question.

Relatively easy to install. Record quality is good. Looks factory. Allows little room to get all the connections in the housing. One has to be very careful or the housing connection could get damaged.

About a year ago I got a Fitcamx for my wife's 2024 RAV4. The Fitcamx was such an easy install on her RAV that I decided to get one for my 2023 Toyota Tacoma Off-road. The install took 5 minutes and then another 5 minutes to get it setup with my iPhone. I set the video quality to the highest setting with a 3 minute length. The HD video quality after my test this evening was excellent. I could make out license plate numbers and small details with the highest setting. One of the biggest selling points beyond the HD video is that it looks like an OEM part.

Super easy to install. Unfortunately, I can't get any power. I've tried unplugging, checking the connections, making sure no bent pins, reinstalling - formatted the SD card - I tried EVERYTHING but it will not power on. This does not take a genius to install and I'm not stupid. When you try to get support, you get nowhere and no answers. The app itself doesn't even address this issue and is not very intuitive. What a waste of my time.

[Updated 8/14/26]: I bought some 3M tape and put little slivers all around the edge of the dash cam and I'm hoping this solves the problem. I check the live view on my phone and the camera still works great and has a clear vivid picture despite dropping and hitting the dash probably 15 times. I love this camera and the way it integrates into the existing structure so it looks OEM. I just wish they would fix the "staying-put" issue. [Updated review 8/1/26]: The camera works great and I love it; HOWEVER, it won't lock in place. I've had three people besides myself work on it and it just won't stay up. I'll be driving down the road and bam! It drops and startles me. This is very distracting and dangerous, ESPECIALLY when I'm doing 75mph down the interstate! I'm about to the point where I'm going to duct tape the dang thing to the freakin' windshield. Not happy! Removing two stars for this reason. Original review: I initially had some trouble geting the camera to work but after disconnecting and reconnecting the plugs a few times, it finally worked!!! 👏 The app even lets me see the live view from my camera, which is more than I can say for the last dash cam [Garmin Mini 2 👎] that I had. I'm stoked and grateful now. Hoping & 🙏 it keeps on working!!
