Not sure what poor reviewers are on about. This is by far one of the best written Marvel films I've seen. I generally can't stand Marvel/superhero films because they're the same junk regurgitated over and over again; non-stop explosions, fights and city destruction with brief pauses for lame dialogue and wooden acting. With Shang Chi I feel like there was actual effort invested in the story writing and dialogue. Sure, there is plenty predictable - all superhero movies are effectively the same - but this is one of the very few I would watch again. This film also holds a special appeal to anyone, like me, who grew up watching those HK kung fu films of the 80's and 90's.

Entertainment for all age groups, although the subtitles at the start of the film my be frustrating for some.

È un grande spettacolo quello offerto da Shang-Chi. Il film diretto da Destin Daniel Cretton investe sul misticismo della storia cercando e trovando immagini di forte suggestione. L'intera sequenza ambientata nel villaggio nascosto di Ta Lo è una meraviglia per gli occhi, a cominciare dalla magia che muove gli elementi naturali come acqua e vegetazione, fino alla battaglia contro il demone succhia anime, passando per le adorabili creature che pascolano nella quiete prima della tempesta. Ma ancor prima, il regista e il team creativo trovano un felice allestimento di azione e kung-fu nel contesto urbano di San Francisco con il divertente combattimento sull'autobus, e in quello di Macao con le arti marziali sfoggiata in notturna sul ponteggio di un grattacielo. Oltre ad aver lavorato per conferire al film una distinta personalità visiva nel Marvel Cinematic Universe, gli autori ritraggono con precisione anche la dinamica familiare dei personaggi. Il protagonista Shang-Chi ha non poche questioni irrisolte con il padre e con la sorella. La triangolazione di questa famiglia disfunzionale è la vera spina dorsale della storia. La sceneggiatura non perde mai di vista la posta in gioco per ognuno di loro, avvalendosi di flashback quando necessario, mettendo oculatamente in secondo piano il mistero dei Dieci Anelli di cui ci si occuperà nei film successivi. Tony Leung è l'indiscussa star di Shang-Chi e la leggenda dei Dieci Anelli. Il noto attore hongkonghese usa il carisma che gli è naturale per incarnare il suo personaggio millenario Xu Wenwu, schiavo del suo dolore per la perdita della moglie. Sono gli occhi di Leung comunicare la disperazione e la malinconia che alimentano la rabbia di un uomo pronto a passare sul cadevere dei propri figli per inseguire un'illusione. Allo stesso modo è un piacere ritrovare Ben Kingsley nel brillante ruolo dell'attore Trevor Slattery che si aggangia direttamente agli eventi di Iron Man 3. Restando nel solco della commedia, l'amica Katy interpretata da Awkwafina è di chiacchiera affilata e si garantisce un posto nel futuro dell'MCU varcando con Shang-Chi il portale aperto da Wong. La compattezza e la chiarezza narrativa fanno di Shang-Chi e la leggenda dei Dieci Anelli un film completo e soddisfacente, in cui l'intera veste del genere superoistico al quale appartiene è solo una caratteristica supplementare che ne rimarca la forza con gli elementi fantasy della storia.

I was watching (fourth time) Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon recently with some friends not familiar with Chinese films and culture. One walked out scoffing, the other stayed with it but had negative comments. Some have a problem with martial arts, with fantasy, and the seemingly impossible stunts in action films. I went home and immediately ordered Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, as I think Michele Yeoh is a great actress, especially now older, wiser, mature, and fascinating to watch her depth of feeling and expressions in the roles she takes on in her midlife career (she was exceptional and brilliant in Everything Everywhere All at Once). Also I've been a great fan of Tony Leung and Akwafina (I did not know Sir Ben Kingsley had a role in the film - brilliant as always). I knew the film won some awards a couple years back. But... Wow! I was not prepared for this. The movie totally blew me away. I don't want to give any spoilers. It is a film to watch and be drawn into, let it flow with no preconceptions. It begins in Mandarin centuries earlier in China, but a short time into the film it switches to English in modern San Francisco, Some of the best action sequences I've seen in recent films. The CGI works seamlessly into the film and is about the best I have seen and I give praise to the team that worked on it, praise also to the film editors, the cinematographers, and to the director and his vision. The writers also must be given credit for making an essentially fantasy action film come alive in a way that you can imagine being young again and encountering your first film about good and evil, and the importance of good character, virtues and life values of family, friendship, love, loyalty in the confrontation with evil. It is visually stunning if not astonishing. The acting is superb by all, obviously the product of team work. It ends with a suggestion of more to come, and I for one cannot wait to see the next chapter. But first I am going to watch Shang Chi and the Legend of the Twelve Rings again and again. It is a total film experience, and for this I give it 5 Stars, two thumbs up.

Watching this movie in Dolby Vision and Atmos is a visual feast. Good one, to my collection

Llegó muy rápido y en excelente estado. La película me gustó mucho y la ude reproducir sin problema
