If you paint with acrylics or gouache water colors, these paints could be the best ever for very vibrant colors and solid opaque coverage. I use them tint acrylic paints, and a tiny bit goes a long way. This set will last a long time, with it's velvety matte finish and smooth texture. Well worth the extra cost to get dense pigments.

I bought this a long time ago, and had read some glowing reviews about it, and some complaining it was terrible and streaky, and wondered what the difference was. I swatched it and it was indeed streaky, even after multiple coats. I'm pretty sure I was over diluting them. The recommended ratio is 2 parts paint, 1 part water, and I was dropping a brush full of water into the paint like twice, mixing, then using a soaking wet brush on top of that to grab the paint. It was so transparent and streaky, even with multiple coats that I was so disappointed I didn't pick them back up for a number of months. Recently I decided to give them another quick try, and I only used the water that was on the brush to dilute them this time, and they came out perfectly beautiful, opaque and flat. Just saying if you have tried to use this and found it aggravating, maybe try changing the amount of water you're painting with. Hope this helps! 😊

Good, but both blues have pw6 (white) in them. The cobalt blue Hue (hue meaning an impression of basically) is made up of pb29 (synthetic ultramarine) and pw6 (white) which is disappointing. The other color is sky blue which is made up of a total of 4 different pigments!! (pb15, pg7, pw6 (white), and py3. Colors like this make for muddy color mixing due to them not being single pigment and more importantly having white mixed in. Let’s say for example you decided to mix it with black or mix a skin tone, your color is going to either be muddy or look gray. You can’t control how much white to put into them when it’s already mixed in like that. The two reds are single pigment along with the violet and perm lemon yellow, as well as the jet black. But the two greens (perm green middle and perm green light) are both made of two pigments and therefore not single pigment. The perm yellow deep is also made with two pigments along with the burnt sienna. The consistency itself using these is pretty good for the price as well as easy to paint with i imagine for a beginner, and the color assortment would be great if so many of them weren’t made with so many pigments. Mixing with them is the issue being that you end up with less vivid or quality color mixes. If you just use these out of the tube and don’t mix that much it shouldn’t be a problem. It’s once you start getting into mixing more then three colors together the problems arise. They dry matte as acryl gouache should and feel similar to other brands i use in terms of application. For a student or beginner or someone just looking to paint casually i would recommend them. But i disagree with them being characterized as an artist grade paint, more like a student one.

So amazing! I never understood the excitement around acrylic gouache but turns out it’s not just hype. The flow, the way they act like watercolor but dry permanent. Honestly I think turner brand better that the other more popular brand from Japan for acrylic gouache in particular. Even if they were not less expensive I would choose them every time. Beautiful set of paint worth every penny! Try a small set and you will be blown away! It’s not something that is easy to describe but it’s definitely something worth exploring.

Bought for spouse whose hobby is painting. He'd never used gouach before, and was very happy with the colors and their depth and coverage. He's done some really nice work with them.

Ich hatte etwas Startschwierigkeiten mit den Acrylicgouache Farben, da sie mir zu schnell trockneten und ich Pigmentrückstände beim Auftragen hatte. Ich benutzte zuvor nur die Acrylicgouache Farben von Holbein. Die Farben lagen deshalb eine Weile rum, bis ich sie nocheinmal austestete und bemerkte, dass sie viel mehr Wasser benötigen, als die von Holbein. Nun benutze ich alte Aquarellpinsel, die mehr Wasser halten und ich liebe die Farben jetzt sehr, so dass ich noch das Set ergänzt habe.

What can I say about these paints ? They are the best on the market. The colours are so pigmented. The consistency is excellent. I use them to paint flat or to give watery, thin strokes of colour. Omg the colours are superb !! I repeat buy this brand all the time. You will not be disappointed if you purchase these paints.

These paints have all the dense flat properties of gouache combined with the permanence of acrylic. With an easily workable consistency these paints are great for detail and blending. I would recommend them to everyone.

発色も良く使いやすいアクリルガッシュ。小さなキャンパスで使っているので20mlあればしばらくは大丈夫。絵の具の箱は硬めのデープで固定されていたので家に着いた時、絵の具は暴れていなかった。とても綺麗な状態で箱の中に収まっていました。安心してAmazonで購入できる。 次は和シリーズ試してみたいです。 追記：ブラックフライデーでセールしてたのでジャパネスクカラーをお試しで購入。渋みのある配色で楽しめそう。
