Beautiful Little Tea Kettle!
We had bought this product last year (in yellow) and just loved it. It was well made, the perfect size for us, and performed wonderfully. Unfortunately, my husband accidentally dropped it on our ceramic tile floor and chipped it in several places. When we looked for a replacement, we were very happy to find it still being offered (although not in yellow anymore). This time, we purchased it in turquoise. It arrived today and seems to be of equal quality and craftsmanship to the former one.

Adorable tea kettle
I love the yellow, lemon, nice and bright. It is a small kettle perfect for making just a few cups. As it does not whistle I did forget it was on the other day ! But mostly I just wait and when I see steam I take it off the heat. The pot heats quickly which I like. The handle can get hot so grab it with a towel or oven mitt.

Perfect Kettle for the Vintage Style Kitchen!
I read all of the reviews prior to purchasing this tea kettle and I could not be more pleased with it! It is a very classic style and the turquoise colour not only matches a lot of the Martha Stewart products but fits in perfectly with my 1940s style kitchen. The enamel is bright and heavy duty (it's been knocked off the stove several times by a boisterous puppy who is still learning not to counter surf & shows no chips or scratches from hitting the tile floor), the lid fits securely, and I love how the handle bends to the side for ease of filling (you can still hold the handle while it's sideways and it doesn't slip around!).It's the first thing people notice when they walk into my kitchen and it's as functional as it is attractive. For the price, you simply cannot beat it!

Adorable kettle - just don't walk away! (Common sense I know)
I LOVED this kettle. The color was beautiful, and I used it for a few months everyday. It doesn't whistle, which at first wasn't a problem cuz I usually stick close when boiling water anyway (it only takes a minute to boil 16-32 oz).But then my husband started some water boiling and walked away...it boiled dry and got big black marks up the side (they came off with magic eraser). When he realized it was dry he rushed it to the sink and filled it with tap water...which is colder than boiling water and caused the ceramic to pop off in a few places. It was fine though, and I used it for another month before it happened again. (I was called away because my 2 year old had a rather large bathroom accident...ew). This time the handle, which is plastic, fell down and it boiled dry - for 45 minutes!!! UGH! The handle melted half through and the little ball on top (which is also plastic) had melted down about 1/4 the way. The inside bottom was completely scotched and unusable...I may have shed more than a few tears.SO I threw it away...and my husband insisted on a whistling one so this didn't happen again. I loved you, little Calypso kettle...but our relationship was not meant to be.The moral of the story is, this is a GREAT little kettle - JUST DON'T BOIL IT DRY! And if you do DON'T PUT COOL/COLD WATER IN IT! Just let it cool by it's self. And all will be well; you'll have an adorable kettle that you'll be glad to keep on the stove top.ps. When purchasing another one I considered buying it again and also buying one of the bird whistles you put in the spout...but I didn't know if it would fit.

Loving it.
I love my new teapot!!!Trying all kind of tea...Update. I purchased this August of 2019 and it is now October of 2021 I still absolutely love this. I looks like brand new. I use a wire cooking ring and don't put it straight on the burner. Works wonderfully! The lid is now just starting to rust a bit so I'm going to put a little clear enamel paint on it to see it it stops cuz I love my pot... 😥 just letting you know. Here is a pic of mine lol full and hot right now.

No whistle; bad for forgetful people
Please note that I do not believe that what happened to this pot is the fault of the manufacturer or the seller, I just write this as a warning for those who tend to be forgetful.I bought this pot for my mother and she loved it. It worked well and looked beautiful enough to keep on the stove as decoration. However, I assumed that the pot would whistle. Most tea kettles do; I thought that was the whole point of having a tea kettle, for the whistle to tell you when it's done, otherwise you would just use a regular pot. But it's not the manufacturer's fault, it's my fault for not looking closely at the reviews. The problem is that my mother likes to just set the pot on the stove and do work around the house or get some work done from home at the computer while it gets to a boil, and a few days ago she totally forgot about it. She was getting some work done and it sat on the stove for over an hour with no whistle to remind her about it and the pot just... started melting. All the water evaporated and since the fire had nothing left to heat up, it attacked the pot. We've only had it a couple weeks so it's pretty disappointing. But once again, I don't blame the manufacturer, seller, or even my mother, it's my fault for not paying attention to the reviews.Don't let this deter you if you want this tea kettle, though. It's very pretty, and gets the job done. If you don't mind that it does not have a whistle, this is a good pot. Just be careful letting forgetful people use it.

Bright, Nice and RED
Excellent packing, timely arrival! It's what I was looking for after leaving my previous (red) kettle on the stove to boil dry (yes, there are people who can't even boil water.) It has a whistle, in which I usually kept a spoon so it would not whistle when I used it simply to put moisture into the air in winter. So I looked for a non-whistler, and this is exactly what I needed. Also, my previous kettle did not have a handle that's hinged, and it was difficult to remove the lid with hot water underneath. I keep thinking that these evaluations should really appear after a month or two of use of things because one could then report on longer-term experience, which I have not had since I just put water into it the first time yesterday. But I expect to love it and get the expected use out of it.

I LOVE my little tea kettle!!
I've been reading over some of the reviews here, and have to wonder if we're all talking about the same tea kettle.I've been using mine for three months now, and love it! It's just the right size for my small stove. Since the kettle lives on the stove top, it has to fit. I had to return another kettle because it was too big. When I boil water I turn the burner to high, but I remove it from the burner as soon as the water boils. I haven't had anything melt or even come close. The handle stays cool if it is left in the upright position, and is quite comfortable to hold. The lid is easy to take off and put on if you pay attention to the position of the little knob on the rim. It's there to hold the lid in place. The only rust I've seen is a little bit on the screw holding the lid's knob handle in place. Not a big deal for me.The only real criticism I have about these tea kettles is that the colors are not true to what's shown on the web page. I first ordered the yellow one, but it was a pale lemony yellow, not a bright sunny yellow (which I wanted). I next ordered an orange one, but the color was rather anemic. Fortunately, Amazon took them back with no problem. I finally ordered a red one. It's not the same color, either, but mine is a deeper, richer red which I like just fine.So I've seen and used three of these tea kettles, and they were all in excellent condition and did exactly what they were supposed to do.By the way, ANY tea kettle will melt if you leave it on the stove and forget about it. That is not an indication of the kettle's quality, it's an indication of user error.
