Perfect for Aftercare Back Surgery
Just had lower spinal back surgery. This was the perfect height for me, I am 5' 9". I will be using this for 2 months, it's easy to take off if people come to visit and it does not move around when sitting. Highly recommend if you need a lift for bathroom use after back surgery!

Raised toilet seat made recovery so much easier
Makes life so much easier! Used during recovery from knee replacement. The height made navigating the toilet so much easier and more comfortable.

Perfect safe fit. No shifting around at all.
Never thought I'd be using one of these until I ruptured a disc in my lower back a month ago. Surgery in a few days. ANYWAY...After carefully and very slowly climbing steep steps taking baby steps up to the only toilet in the house I quickly discovered that it was painful and awkward to lower myself down to our old toilet that sits very low (something that doesn't matter until you have a back issue). So I found this toilet extender thingy on Amazon, liked the reviews and ordered it. It came in 2 days which meant only 2 days of a nasty humiliating portable potty on the covered porch. Thank god when it came. You just put the lid AND the toilet seat up and set this item right on the ceramic opening. We have an old toilet from the 70s and it fit snugly and there was absolutely no wiggling or tipping AT ALL. It sat perfectly solid while getting on it and sitting on it and raising off of it. It is lightweight but made sturdy. A quick rub with a baby wipe and it's good as new. I only lower my body slightly to set it on it's side against the wall or side of the tub so when I go in next time I don't need to bend at the waist to pick it back up. It comes off and on so easily that the rest of my family have the toilet normal for them when they go to use it. And no one moves the portable toilet seat extender so that it's always right where I left it. This items would be great if you had a back issue but were still able to spend a day or even overnight somewhere else and use it on the toilet there. I would give this 6 stars if I could. And the price is so reasonable.

Worked perfectly on vacation--allows me to travel with bad knees
I recently took this elevated toilet seat on my vacation and I purchased it specifically for travel use so I thought I'd share my experiences with it. I was on an airplane trip and the seat fit in my checked luggage (24") though it does take up some space for other things. I have bad knees but handicapped accessible hotel rooms, while having ADA height compliant toilets, often have very low beds which are difficult for me to use. This toilet seat allowed me to be in a regular hotel room and still accommodate my disability. The first hotel room I was in had a standard elongated toilet. The seat fit perfectly (with the regular toilet seat up) but you need something at the back to keep it from sliding backwards. I took a couple newspapers and rolled them into a cylinder and placed it between the back of the toilet and the elevated seat. This kept the elevated toilet seat in place and it was solid for use. I did not experience any movement or slippage of the seat sitting directly on it--if you move your weight substantially to the sides you would have tipping but that is the same with my permanent elevated toilet seat at home. The second hotel room I was in had an atypical shaped elongated toilet. It was much more round in the middle than a standard one. This elevated seat still fit (with a brace at the back) but it wasn't quite as stable. I did not have any difficulties however--you just had to make sure you weren't too rambunctious in moving around when using it. I found that this elevated seat is also pretty easy to clean. I washed it in the shower with the hotel shampoo that I never use. I then dried it and used Wet Ones wet wipes to thoroughly disinfect it. If you are on a car trip you could easily bring a spray bottle of disinfectant instead. The elevated seat fits in this duffle bag that I purchased here on Amazon (40L capacity) so it can be carried discretely with your other luggage. A bonus is that there is also room left in the bag for your dirty laundry or shoes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FDYNR5M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I did place the cleaned elevated seat in a large garbage bag before placing it in the duffle (it all fit just fine). I decided to not bring the elevated seat back with me in my luggage--its cheap enough to be a throwaway item. But I did purchase another to keep at home for car trips and that one I plan to reuse several times. I haven't used the seat on a regular round shape toilet yet but I am certain it would work with that style also. Its possible there are some atypical shaped toilets out there that may be an issue (like the one I experienced) but I would think most hotels will have a standard style. Hope this all helps someone out there....

Very helpful for anyone recovering from injury or needed help using a home toilet.
Very helpful when my mom broke her knee. She loved the height it added so much that she still uses it to make using the bathroom so much easier. Itโs stable as long as you donโt use it as a handle to lift yourself unevenly, she used one side as a handle and it did shift slightly. Itโs easy to set up and stays in place while using. The seat is easy to clean and just as comfortable as the seat itself. It came quickly after we ordered so I would definitely recommend this brand/seller.

Great item for people that need a higher throne
Couldnโt be easier to install, just lift your toilet seat and this fits very nicely. I have an oval toilet. Have no problem with the seat from moving while in use. Easy to remove to clean and just put it back on.

Works like a charm!
Received this a day after having incisional hernia surgery. I'm a big guy 6'2" 280lbs and sitting on a regular toilet would have been very painful. This is the perfect height so I can have a comfortable poop and not strain my abdomin. I honestly think that this might have a little too much height for anyone under 5'10", unless you want your feet dangling from the toilet. It sits directly on the bowl, with the seat up, with nothing to secure it, just foam pads, so you have to watch that it doesn't move around while you sit on it. I never really had an issue. It's also very light, so if you have back or hernia issues, it won't be a problem lifting it on your own. It's definitely a purchase I don't regret and it's a decent price.

The Carex Toilet Seat Riser Was A No Go.
This Seat riser did not properly fit any of the toilets in my mother's home. It should have had a way to lock it firmly to the bowl, and it would have been rather unsafe for a senior.
