This could have been a good book if one day authors learn how to take actual real world situations and walk through them. There is too much information that is very consulated and difficult to understand for most people. Sporatic content that does not flow. If I wanted to setup and configure cloud 13c. This book makes no sense

Advertized as cookbook but was just an advertisement for "Oracle Cloud". Nothing worthwhile in the cookbook.

It is great book to understand some features offered by OEM 13C.

I was looking to get a quick idea of what Oracle offers for the private database cloud. This book gave me a good idea of Oracle's capabilities in this area, on how to set up an on-premise database cloud with Oracle's flagship cloud management product "Cloud Control". I also got to understand how it actually works. If you are looking at the hybrid database cloud, the book covers that too. Impressed.

This is a clear, concise cookbook about how to set up the Oracle Private Database Cloud infrastructure using Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c. Porus clearly explains the steps and also demonstrates the "as a service" effectively. Pleasantly surprised to see the hybrid cloud agent setup included, showing how to connect your on-site EM to the Oracle Public Database Cloud. As a plus point, there are chapters showing the set up of RMAN backups and Data Guard standbys using Enterprise Manager. A must have book. Fantastic Work by Porus.
