I used these for a backyard swing setup and they worked great. The hangers feel very solid and heavy-duty, and once installed they feel extremely secure. They’re designed from strong steel and are rated for a very high load capacity (up to around 2400 lbs), which definitely adds confidence when kids are using the swing.  Installation was straightforward and the hardware included made it easy to mount them to a beam. Once everything was tightened down, the swing moves smoothly and quietly. Overall, these are well-made swing hangers that feel safe and durable. If you’re building a swing set or hanging a porch swing, these are a great option.

Heavy duty

First off, the swing hanger itself is great. It's heavy duty, and well coated to avoid any rusting. It comes with lag screws that can be used for a quick installation. However - here is the problem: Problem 1: The lag screws that it comes with have a cheap zinc coating on them - this would probably be fine if you are drilling into non pressure treated wood for indoor use. Given that this is meant for a swing set though, chances are that you are attaching the mounts outdoors to pressure treated wood. Pressure treated woo is highly corrosive and requires hot dipped galvanized screws/bolts to avoid corrosion. I initially installed the swing hangers with the stock hardware, and found that they started to rust and corrode after only a month. Problem 2: The lag screws are not a standard size, so you cannot simply swap these out for 1/2 hot dipped galvanized lag screws that you can get at Home Depot or Lowes. The holes in the swing hanger are too small to fit 1/2 hot dipped galvanized lag screws. So essentially you are forced to replace these almost 1/2 screws with 3/8 size hardware. Recommendation to the customer: If you are mounting to pressure treated wood, I recommend throwing out the hardware that comes with it, and replacing them with 3/8 galvanized bolts. I used bolts instead of screws because I had to size down and wanted the extra security of a bolt. Additionally, I already had the holes drilled for the almost 1/2 size screws so i could not use a 3/8 size lag screw. Some recommendations/ideas for the vendor: - Adjust the size of the holes in the swing hanger to accommodate 1/2 galvanized screws/bolts - Include galvanized hardware or don't include any hardware and tell the customer the size and type of hardware they should buy (likely galvanized if using pressure treated wood).

These worked great , you will need to drill a decent pilot hole before bolting them down and go ahead and put a drop of oil or spray grease on them.

Like others have pointed out, the hardware is very stout. That was nice to see when I opened the box. I likely won't be the one riding the swing, but I've got comfort knowing whoever does won't wind up their rear. A small squeak set in, but nothing a little lubricant couldn't resolve. That's normal for a design like this. Great product. PS. For the DIY'ers out there, you need to understand what you are attaching these to. Don't trust what's behind that soffit. Remove some of it so you can see.
