This water drop replacement filter for the GE Opal ice maker worked exactly as expected. It was easy to remove the old filter and install the new one and it fit perfectly right away. The quality feels solid, and it runs smoothly without any issues. For the price, it’s a great value and gives peace of mind knowing the ice maker is being properly maintained. The product is priced reasonably; thanks for not gouging customers the OEMs do. It worked great until I experienced performance issues with my GE Opal 2.0. The water added to the reservoir was filtered by a whole home filter (no sediment). This filter was intended to add a layer of protection for the recirculating water in the system. After about three days, the Opal 2.0 started calling for more water (add water). Troubleshooting with OEM tech support, it was concluded that the filter was causing a suction problem. When removed, the ice machine worked fine. When added, the same story was to be told; all two replacements worked for a short time and eventually led to the same issue. I was outside my return window and posted the above to the Amazon comments. Waterdrop customer service reached out to me directly, offered additional support, and made good on their commitment to stand behind the product. *******06/15/22 UPDATE ********* I do not fault Waterdrop for the product failure, and I determined that the Opal 2.0 was a very “needy” machine that required a lot of attention and care to function at a basic level. I have returned the device and will pursue competitive products in this category.

Do not buy these!!!! Installed filter the day I got them. Lasted three weeks. COMPLETELY blocked. I have very clean well water. Installed new one it lasted two weeks and it completely blocked. I might could see it if I had dirty water but I have a whole house filter and use filtered water in the ice maker tank. So it's double filtered before it ever gets to the filter in the ice maker. I do not recommend these filters

Edit: THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Edit #2 I received my replacement filter, and unfortunately, those, too, did not work. The customer service was outstanding, though. After my review a representative from Waterdrop reached out and apologized for the issue. Not only did she apologize, but she offered a full refund and replacement filters to see if they work. They refunded the money within a reasonable amount of time and the replacement filters just arrived. I am hoping that they work as I want to keep supporting companies with such a focus on customer satisfaction. Even if they don’t work on my model I’ll still keep this review at 5 stars just because of the effort made to resolve my issue. I added the filter with the steps seen on the reviews. I soaked in water to get bubbles out. Now I keep getting “Add Water” even though the side tank was full. I did notice the hose running from the side tank only had bubbles. I tipped it over to get more water in, but even after that the water would not flow into the opal ice maker. It removed it and it started making ice again. It seems this filter causes problems with being able to feed in wanted from the side tank.

Doesn’t fill up the tank as fast but is a sure fit and works

Fits just like the original filter. Functional and delivered in a timely manner.
