Caught a mouse on the first night
I have the green house looking trap for years, but itโs so expensive. After many years, the hinges werenโt working on them anymore to close the trap so I had to repurchase. I decided to try these as they are similar at a much better price (4 traps for the price of one of the green house looking traps). I put four pieces of cat food at the very back on the ledge and put it along the wall in a location that I suspected a mouse. Caught the mouse in one night. The only thing that I would note is that the door for release is really hard to open which is not ideal when you are trying to release quickly. Also, be sure to release more than one mile away or the mouse will likely come back. These are cleanable but itโs difficult to clean them well so I usually just throw it away and put out a new trap. I highly recommended this product.

They really work great.
Easy to set up. I am stationary in a fifth wheel. I was getting mice. I tried Everything to deter them from entering. I didn't want to kill the mice just get them out. I bought these traps, put some cereal in it and caught one right away. Caught another one next day. So I bought several traps for the drawers (empty) and under the sink Everytime I caught one is put it in a tall trash container with a lid, take it down the road to a field and let it go. They are easy to wash to use again. I would go months without a mouse then I would start getting them again. I bought several of these traps. Love them.

Great product, good price, highly effective!
I never write reviews, even when I love a product, but this one has been amazing! I was worried about it's structural quality and size when I ordered it, but it's actually a very good and simple design. A decent breath of air can set the mechanism off which was a concern of mine as these mice are pretty small. Within 2 hours of setting it up we had caught a mouse. We released it outside and reset the trap. I've caught 4 now. (there's an issue in this complex at the moment) It's very easy to cleanup and comes with a brush to do so. First time I've ever used a catch and release rodent trap and I can not be happier. 10/10

Similar to other humane mousetraps, but with 2 significant design flaws
I am revising my prior review because I was wrong. Previously I had thought they were single use because I could not get the doors to stay open so that they could be set for another mouse to enter. That has turned out not to be true. I still don't love this design (it is different than other similar humane mouse traps). 1st, where you put the bait is actually separated from the mouse, so s/he cannot eat it whilst in the trap. That seems diabolical; you can smell the peanut butter, you can see the peanut butter, but you cannot actually eat the peanut butter if you are hungry and trapped. 2nd, the hinge that closes the trap door is on the floor of the device rather than the ceiling of it, so when you clean it, you have to have the spring mechanism in water. When the spring is on the top, you can soak the trap in an inch or 2 of water, and not get the spring wet and therefore less likely to corrode. Having said all of that, it does reliably catch mice. Just make sure you check on them quickly so they're not in there starving and dying.

The traps worked perfectly, and best of all it's a humane way to deal with mice
I noticed a corner of a box of breakfast bars chewed up on my garage shelf. From my experience 10 years ago, I knew I had mice. 10 years ago, I went to my local hardware store and purchased the cheapest solution, the sticky/glue paper. They worked well, but I felt horrible the next morning when I caught 3 baby mice and an adult. They were alive, trying to pull themselves free, and I am sure they were suffering. Then I had the dirty deed of deposing live mice. Not this time, there had to be a better and more humane way to resolve my mice issue. I searched Amazon and I found these humane and reusable traps. I ordered a pack of 4. On the day of delivery, early that evening I put peanut butter in the bait compartment and put the four traps against the walls in my garage. I was curious so I checked them before I went to bed, and I had already caught 3 mice, all alive. I was surprised to catch 3 mice in less than 4 hours. I put the traps in a brown paper bag (I thought that would keep the mice calm), drove to a nearby wooded park, pushed the spring doors open, and the mice ran off. In my mind they ran off happy and free. Within 4 days I caught a today of 9 mice, all were alive and it was so easy to set them free. The traps worked perfectly. I caught mice without hurting them and was able to set them free easily without touching them. It was very easy to clean the traps, the bait compartment is removable. I used the traps multiple times and had no issues. The price of the traps are very reasonable, just under $4.25 per trap and they will last a lifetime, while the glue paper and other traps are one and done. I am so glad I purchased these traps, they worked exactly as advertised and did not have to feel horrible about killing mice- my kids thought it was cool as well that I set them free each day.

MOUSE TORTURE CHAMBER. Also 2 out of 4 defective, all 4 hard to open
These things don't work right, as described below. I had to throw out 2 of the 4 because they were defective, and now I've discovered something even worse about them: Their doors catch the trapped mouse by the tail. Last night I put out my remaining 2 traps, and soon I heard sounds of struggle. Found a mouse in one with most of its tail trapped in the door. I was literally hanging in the air, because the trap's door had caught it by the base of the tail. I quickly took it outside and released it. This morning, I found another mouse in the trap who had had the last inch of its tail cut off by this cruel trap when it snapped off -- the little bit of tail was still in the door. It was pitiful. I think the maker put too strong a spring on the door, so it snaps shut with too much force. Whoever made things -- I hope an angry dog bites a chunk out of his butt! And on top of that, these things are hard to use, and 2 of them were so defective they were unusable. Had bought some similar mousetraps before, by maker Harris, and those worked fine. They were easy to use, and did not catch mice by the tail. These, by maker lllteri, looked just the same, so figured they were -- but NO. I bought 4. Two of them had something wrong with the little plastic tab that's on the end of the door at the mouse end of the trap. That door opens downward and is held open by the plastic tab on its end that tucks under another plastic bit inside the trap. The little "door" then forms a ramp that the mouse walks up. When the mouse reaches the top of the ramp his weight moves the plastic tab enough that it comes free from the thing holding it, and the door snaps shut behind the mouse. However, 2 out of 4 of these traps had tabs that were too short. One tab was so short that it simply did not reach the thing it's supposed to tuck behind, so it was impossible to I threw it away. Another one had a tab that just barely reaches. Sometimes this tab came loose just from the tiny jarring it gets when I set it downs. That leaves 2 traps out out of 4 whose mouse doors work properly. BUT all 4 of these traps had another problem: It is fairly hard to slide upen the end where you put in the bait. On the other brand the bait compartment slid out very easily -- you didn't even have to push it, you could turn the trap upside down and it would fall off. On these traps they stick. If you look at the illustration in the directions for use, you'll see 2 thumbs pressing firmly inward and upward on the bait holder, and that really is what you have to do. When you're loading in the bait, this is merely a nuisance. But when you've freeing a mouse that got caught in them, it's a real problem. The way you let the mouse out is to pull off the bait compartment, leaving that whole end open. If to pull open the bait door you have to face that end towards you and push hard with both hands, that means that when you free the mouse the trap is right in front of your face. I'm softhearted, and that's why I use these humane traps, but I do not want a freed mouse jumping out right onto my face! In short, this brand of trap seems like a badly made copy of the ones that work. Get another brand. I later found that other brands do the same thing -- catch the mouse's tail in the door. I think what causes these tail captures is that the door snaps shut too hard and fast after the mouse enters. The mouse isn't able to pull its tail free. I have modified my trap in a way that will spare the tails. It's possible that it will also allow the mouse to escape the trap, but I doubt it. My modification leaves the door a tiny bit open, and they might be able to grab the edge and pull it open fully -- but I don't think they have the intelligence or strength to do it. Here's how you make this trap humane. Get some tape -- I used duck tape. Cut a strip about 1/2 inch wide and 2 inches long, and roll it up into a little roll. Then take another strip of tape and use that to stick the roll in place on the inner roof of the trap right inside the door. This will keep the trap from closing fully and trapping the mouse's tail. I've included a photo of how it's done.

Purchased & used a few sets but they need to be emptied very promptly
I have purchased a few packs of these traps and was very happy, the good is that they are very quick and easy to set and the mice do not have a problem at all going in them. I put a dab of peanut butter in the bait area and it lasts to attract them for several settings. The one problem I have run into and did not realize until a few stopped setting easily is that if you do not notice the mouse within a short while under 20 minutes they tend to chew the platform they would run across to trigger the door to close. I have so far not found a remedy for this and once the plastic is chewed if it is able to be set even the slightest vibration trips the door to close.

Effective and harmless mouse trap that doesn't make me feel like a murderer!
I ordered these less than 24 hours ago, got same day delivery, and then was a little put off by the second line in the directions tell me that patience is key (I am not patient!) because these are live, nimble creatures. Lo and behold, as soon as I turned the lights out to go to bed, my adorable little house mouse went right in for the peanut butter and got trapped inside (safely, with no harm to the creature)! I included this photo because some of the other reviews on here are a bit wacky, so allow me to share an alternative perspective. 1. On the "torture chamber" bit about tails getting caught in the door: I'm fortunate that my house mouse is tiny and suffered no injuries whatsoever. That said, your alternatives are (1) death trap, (2) glue trap, which I understand to be torture traps, as it's often impossible to unstick the mouse without breaking their feet, essentially leaving them for dead if you don't kill them in the act of ripping them from the glue (not to mention, that is way more contact with the mouse than I am up for), or (3) accept that you coexist with a family of mice sharing your food and home. Those reviews are dramatic as heck, and I was willing to accept the possibility that I may have had a mouse with a broken tail being freed into the woods instead of a dead or tortured mouse to deal with and blood on my hands. 2. On the trap being too difficult to see when you've caught a mouse, leading to suffering mice being stuck inside for too long: Even if your vision is so bad that you can't clearly see this [totally adorable] house mouse through the tinted blue trap here... you've laid out a mouse trap! How on earth are you *not* checking it regularly to see if you've caught a mouse?? Get yourself together and don't leave mouse traps around your house unchecked that may have trapped mice inside! 3. On them being ineffective: All I can speak to is my experience, and I purchased the traps shortly after noon, had them delivered by 5, and had a mouse trapped inside by midnight. Hot damn is that effective in my book! I'm a highly sensitive animal lover, so I am very grateful to this manufacturer for providing me with an effective option that will not give me nightmares for the foreseeable future! Unless they're nightmares about "the one that got away"... the sweet little house mouse that I sent running off into the forest when I maybe should have instead provided it with a cage to continue living with me in a controlled fashion.
