Excellent coffee substitute!
I must admit I was skeptical when I learned it was a fig based product. However, after brewing two cups now I'm so impressed that I felt I had to write a review. It does taste like coffee! I did a pour over using a generous amount of the product and I can't believe how good it is. I would go as far as saying some people wouldn't know it isn't real coffee. You'll want to experiment with how much of the product to put in your cup. The more you add.. the more it taste like coffee. There is some of the fig taste but it is quite pleasant. Great product and well worth a try.

Satisfying Beverage
Formally a Pero/Inka/Caffix drinker, for health reasons, I had to go grain-free, follow an A.I.P. diet and look for an alternative. I’m happy to have found this. Coffig is a comforting hot beverage that’s great after my evening meal. It also is satisfying as an afternoon “pick-up” without the worry of caffeine side effects. Coffig is dark, rich and is a bit more sweet than coffee. It is concentrated and a 1/2tsp will make a good cup. The consistency of the product itself is a fine powder that can be messy if you’re not careful. I now understand why it comes in a “tea bag” version. I purchased the 100g bag with the intent of brewing with reusable k-cup pods. Most of the time the pods would clog. Then I tried using the reusable k-cup pod as a tea-ball and that worked better, but left a lot of sediment on the bottom of the cup. Out of determination, I did an experiment by mixing Coffig with roasted chicory root granules and I’m very happy with the results. 2 parts chicory + 1 part Coffig worked great! The consistency changed and I was able to brew through a k-cup pod with no problems. Another benefit of this mix is that the chicory bitterness is offset by the Coffig sweetness. They balance each other perfectly for a more coffee-like experience. Maybe the makers of Coffig can make the blend and add it to their product line. Regardless, I’ll be purchasing again.

Love the flavor, more isn't necessarily better
I really enjoy the Coffig, which is just figs. Great source of potassium. We also drink coffee, and Teecino roasted dandelion tea/coffee. I like all of them. I found that when you order the ground version it tastes better ~ to me. However, that may be a matter of measuring. Instructions are to use 1/2-1 teaspoon per cup. I measure 1 level tsp. into the tea pot shown in the picture, and let it steep, then strain as I pour. I drink it w/ 1/2 and 1/2. It comes out perfect. The tea pot holds enough for two of us to enjoy. I'm guessing it holds 12-24 oz. I've used the tea bags in the past. In the future if using them again, I'd simmer one tea bag in a small pot of water, rather than steep one tea bag per cup. The gentle simmer will bring out more flavor, and allow me to make more than one cup. All that said to imply that more of the Coffig measured per cup isn't necessarily better. For some it may be too strong. A stronger cup may taste a bit more fruity or tart than some may care for. Just a hunch. I served the tea bag to clients who have loved it. When my husband first tried the tea bag version in the past, he wasn't as keen on it. He picks up more flavor variations than I do, or is more adverse to certain tastes. But he likes the above formula, using 1 tsp. per teapot for the two of us.

Great coffee alternative (if you can tolerate) for those on AIP.
This is a wonderful alternative for people who can’t drink coffee. I enjoyed this product very much. I had been off of coffee for seven months by the time I found this, and was more than excited to try this after reading other reviews. Sadly, for me, I reacted to it as if I had consumed gluten. Loved the taste and it certainly satisfied me in the sense of I was missing my warm cup of coffee each morning. But as many people know, when you’re on AIP for gut /autoimmune issues, you know when you have a reaction to something. Really wanted this to work for me as I mentioned earlier, tastes great and satisfies that desire for a cup of morning coffee. I just don’t tolerate it.

fabulous coffee replacement
so because i can no longer have caffeine or even decaf, i searched around everywhere looking for something similar to coffee to drink in the morning, that's when i found coffig. i was skeptical at first but finally broke down and purchased it. it then sat on my counter for almost 2 weeks before i gave in to it. i opened the package and it looked exactly like fine ground coffee but it still had a slight fig smell, not bad really, so i brewed myself a pot. it did not smell up the house like fresh brewed coffee does so eloquently but when it was finished brewing, it sure looked like coffee and it poured like coffee. i tasted it black, it even had a slight bitterness like coffee, so i added my creamer to it and lo and behold, it was DELICIOUS! it tasted like coffee! i am amazed and delighted by it! i can now have my morning "coffee" without all the nasty side effects! thank you coffig!

Deceptive listing - Not "100% RISK-FREE"
I was skeptical due in part to the cost, but was also hopeful and wanted to give it a chance. I wouldn't have taken the chance on this item other than for the following portion of the listing here on Amazon "ORDER COFFIG NOW 100% RISK-FREE! You don't have to be skeptical! We stand behind our COFFIG with such a certainty that we guarantee a full refund in the improbable case that it leaves you dissatisfied!" Well, I ordered and was not satisfied, so proceeded to return the item - and guess what? It says it's NOT RETURNABLE! So, buyer beware. If Amazon sees this and can make this right, I'll update accordingly. Next I'll give some specifics re the quality and value of the product itself. It more product than claimed, unless you enjoy watery weak beverages. It requires about 1/4 the little bag to make a brew with adequate intensity of flavor, so even if the flavor was better, it just costs too much per serving. I did brew it, I did not treat it like instant coffee. So, when I made a stronger batch, it had a stronger flavor, but just not one I find "satisfying".

Best EVER replacement for Coffee!
(written by wife) If you love figs like I do, and love coffee as much as I do, this is a match made in heaven. I found Coffig in an attempt to cut out caffeine consumption as I am planning to get pregnant. I was surprised by the taste (roasted figs) remind me of the bitterness in coffee and then figs in general add the right amount of sweetness, I even love the seeds, reminds me of coffee grounds but better. There's also a lot of health benefits to figs as well, ie. potassium, iron, vitamin c, folic acid and magnesium. Overall, I would give this a try. I added Dunkin Donuts Creamer (as I have a bit of a sweet tooth) and I honestly find it better than coffee now. Amazing product!

Doesn’t taste like coffee but is a nice substitute 👍🏻
I stopped drinking coffee for a few months as an experiment and this was the first substitute I tried. I love the way it smells, and it is very concentrated so not much is needed. It doesn’t taste like coffee but the taste is pleasant and definitely gives the warmth and appearance of coffee. I also found the taste is much better when prepared in a French press vs. brewed traditionally. However, I feel the cost is difficult to justify, especially if you intend to drink it daily like coffee.
