Two fans arrived as ordered. One fan fit properly for both cable length and screw slots. One fan did not have adequate cable length and screw slots were only 2 instead of 4. Additionally, the only two slots did not align onto the OEM panel. My options are: -secure with only 1 screw and purchase a cable extension. -return the misfitting fan and wait for a return that may not fit. -search for local pc parts store which may have a properly fitted fan.

While they do fit and work in my 15.6in Legion Y540-15IRH, they're so cheap that the fan blades scrape against the blade covers with even the *lightest* pressure. If the blades are spinning, any slight movement of the laptop will cause them to rattle and drag. You're better off tracking down a pair of OEM ones that are made of sturdier metal.

At first I was a bit hesitant to order not from the official manufacturer but there were none other options. But in the end it turned out to be not bad at all.

I bought the Legion Y540-15IRH model about 3 years ago. One of the fan started buzzing at some point and kept getting louder. Tried cleaning it but didn't solve the issue and one of the fan was indeed wobbling a bit when I pressed it down (tested when the laptop was off). So I took the risk of replacing it myself. Thankfully it wasn't too difficult. There is a video online that shows how to do it and it is simple to follow. The fans fit just as stated and works well. Seems like replacing the fan as well as putting on new thermal paste did wonders. Now the laptop is as quiet as the first day I brought it home. Having checked the CPU temperature, when idle, it is a few degrees cooler than before. GPU temperature is also comparable to the CPU temperature, which I assume is reasonable. Also, I can hear the wind rushing through the laptop on both sides and can feel the airflow, so both fan seems to be working well. Very happy with the product, although there is one thing that I had noticed after I made the repair. Turns out that you can buy same or similar fans on eBay, which are also directly shipped from China. However, the listed prices are a little cheaper (actually a bit more than just a little) there, so if you are shopping for these now, I do recommend checking that site as well.

Its been several months since I installed these and still working well.
