Warm and funny
I adore the TV show, and reading the play broadened my understanding of Ins Choi's point-of-view. The play is less funny and more poignant, but as a huge fan of the show, reading about the choices of what could be expanded and what worked better on TV than the play was thought-provoking. I need to go to Toronto to track down the locations used! So real and also such kindness and warmth...

Funny and Evocative
A bite-sized play that speaks for many Asian-Canadian immigrant families and their modern experiences after setting their roots in Canada. It was a fun read that inspired me to watch the TV series. The product itself arrived in excellent condition.

Okay, see you
Anyone who enjoys the CBC show should take a look. A great story about the immigrant experience, gentrification and legacy with a heartwarming ending. For fans of the show it maybe fun to see what aspects were expanded on and changed from stage to screen.
