The set I have says made in Poland, really nice workmanship.

Are the chess pieces weight at the base to prevent being knocked over?

Don't believe there is any actual weight in the bases of the pieces but they are very stable and I never worry about them tipping over. A magnetic game board might be the best solution if knocking over the pieces is a worry.

King's height on 18.5 inch board?

I gave the chess set to my relatives, so I can’t give an accurate measurement. But it is a good and beautiful set

Good Buy. Nice looking chess set and board.

I was surprised to see just how good the chess set and board/storage box, looked. For the price I'm very pleased. Pieces are nice sized, weight could be a tad greater. The chess board is also used for the storage of the chess pieces. The chess board is aesthetically appealing and the storage area is decent. If you don't want to spend a fortune this selection will not be disappointing.

Nice set for a young man’s first chess set

Nice looking and not made in China!! This was made in Poland! The pieces are nice looking and weighted well. I gave a 4 out of 5 rating because the clasp closure is very difficult to use on one side. This is the way to keep the pieces in place when closed…I may try to exchange it

Beautiful Chess Set

So lovely. I purchased it for a birthday gift for my 8 yr old grandson. He joined a beginners chess club a few moths ago. He was thrilled and something he will enjoy as an adult too. It arrived very quickly. I was so excited to give him a special gift. I liked that it was made in Poland and unique looking.

I haven’t played on it yet, but it is good quality and very nice looking. This set makes for an excellent gift for a younger person who is currently plays chess or is just starting out as it will last a lifetime if taken care of.
