Great book for kids
Love this author- we have tons of kids books from this writer. The pictures are always great and the stories are always fun. This is a must have for anyone with little kids.

Has a great message, over all wonderful book
This has been my son's favorite book for over a year. We read it at least 3 times a week. This year we gave a copy to his preschool teacher for Christmas, so she can have it for the class library. We even made a crickwing Christmas tree ornament to represent this year. It is a book that is good for a wide range of ages. We started reading it when he was 3, but I could see 9 or 10 year olds enjoying it also.

Great themes supported by beautiful art and writing
This book tells the story of a bully roach. It encourages children to think about how he bullies out of insecurity and pain. He learns to stop bullying when his pain recedes and he is given empathy by some caring ants. The writing is great- as good as the author's other famous book- Stellaluna, and the art is gorgeous.

crafty cockroach makes friends
Important life lessons about how a person with mobility challenges or other physical challenges might feel marginalized and try to find a special niche in life. Crickwing uses his crafting abilities to save the day. A lovely, deep story about an ancient insect. Perhaps a little too mature for 6 year olds, but they love the story and beautiful illustrations. I expect the "lessons" to sink in over many readings. Janell Cannon is truly gifted.

Great book for teaching about bullying
This is an excellent book for teaching and explaining bullying to small kids. The illustrations are beautiful. The only thing I don't like is that CrickWing is cockroach; I'd assumed he was a cricket.

Great for teaching empathy and kindness
Great for all ages. Used in my fifth grade classroom and my 4 year old loved it. Lots of great vocabulary and illustrations.
