It's Perfect!
What a great looking vacuum. I haven't tested it out fully, but I thoroughly inspected everything upon assembly and dry vac testing, and everything is perfect (no dents, or missing parts, or anything). I bought this because I needed a vacuum for my apartment, and also because the basement gets water coming up during heavy rainstorms, and I thought a wet vac could help a ton. I haven't yet tested the wet vac, that I have to wait for rain before I can. But I have absolutely no complaints. My little R2D2 has great suction power, all the accessories I need, it's just perfect and I don't regret not buying a slightly more powerful one that doesn't look as handsome as this one. Edit: It rained! And I just had to add a bit to my review because I got to test this baby out in a wet vac situation. And holy cow, did it perform admirably. For the wet vac use alone, this product met and exceeded all expectations! I put it to the test as best I could, sucking up gallons and gallons of water that kept coming in to my basement, and boy does this thing make cleaning floods SO much easier than ever before. It is FAST, much faster than I expected. It handles liquids just as well as it handles solid debris (and both simultaneously). After all was said and done, my floor is dry & clean, and my vac took it like a champ. Filter just needed to be brushed off and dried (I'll clean it if it gets real dirty, but it looks almost new still). Cleaning and drying the inside tank of the vac was simple and quick too, I just wiped it down with a rag and it's as clean as when I first opened the box. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this vacuum for just about any application. And if I ever need to buy a replacement, I'm sure I'll buy another one of these.

Good looking, works well too!
Now I've got the best looking shop vacuum in the neighborhood, and I have a degree of flexibility which I never had before. One of the nice features of this shop vacuum is the variety of filters available. I bought (and reviewed) the HEPA filter for some indoor tile sawing which I needed to do, and I purchased a sawdust filter for working in my garage. My old shop vacuum would spew out great clouds of dust whenever I had to vacuum up something fine, like ashes. Not this one; slap in the HEPA filter and all is well. It can also be equipped with bags, something which I haven't tried out yet. My last shop vacuum sounded like a 747 at takeoff. The Vacmaster, while not exactly soothing, is a lot less likely to wake the dead. Suction is fine as well, once again trouncing my old unit. Some reviewers had issues with the cord length. I thought the cord was about right. For quick jobs in a smallish area, the cord is plenty long for me to just find an outlet and plug it in. For larger problems I break out my impressive collection of extension cords. The hose is OK, but a bit stiff feeling to me. I wish the hose was a little larger in diameter as well. So far the Vacmaster does not have a tendency to tip over. One final consideration for me was the electrical current draw on this unit. It's tempting to go out and buy the biggest, most powerful shop vacuum on the planet, but there is a significant drawback to that approach as well. One of the many needs the Vacumaster will fill is that it will be hooked up to the dust port which can be found on many of my power tools. Our garage is also a workshop, storage room, and laundry center. For reasons which escape me, my wife doesn't like her clean clothes covered with saw dust. A large, industrial shop vacuum cleaner may have more suction, but I have limited power available in my garage. If I try to run a 6 HP shop vacuum, overhead lights, and my table saw, I will soon be making the long trek over to the circuit breakers, located outside (bad idea) and at the opposite extreme of the house. So I was looking for a shop vacuum which was easy on the power consumption. For the money, I thought this turned out to be a very good purchase, and as an added bonus, it looks good in my garage / storage room / work shop / laundry room.

Worth a look!
I purchased this on a whim, planning to use it for the sole purpose of emptying the ashes from my pellet stove, which I also just purchased and needed a quick solution. Ash vacs are out there but I figured why not try this and abuse the h-e-double hockeysticks out of it and see what happens? For the money, it was worth a shot. It arrived quickly and packed well in it's original retail box. Clearly a Chinese-made piece, the quality actually isn't that bad. The fit and finish is nice and quality of the parts and pieces did not disappoint me at all. Having read reviews about poor suction, I wasn't expecting much when I first turned it on. To my surprise, it actually does quite well for it's size. Suction is good, it has never left me wishing I had sprung for a more powerful motor. There might be more powerful vacs out there but this is one is pretty much on par with any other shop vac I have ever used. The hose may be smaller in diameter than what you're used to (it's 1 1/4") but given the smaller size of the vac itself, the hose size is appropriately sized. For light duty home applications like vacuuming out the cars and trucks, garage/basement floor clean up, household spills and leaks (and cleaning out pellet stoves) this vac is a superb choice. It's big enough to hold quite a bit of slop, but small and easily portable - and it doesn't take up much space in the garage when not in use. The power cord is nice and long and the hose is seven feet or so, plenty for most uses. It comes with a filter for dry vacuuming and a foam filter for wet vacuuming, as well as a (one) bag. The filter quality is acceptable, what you'd expect at this price point. Perfectly usable. If you're a contractor, have a foot of water in your basement on a regular basis or otherwise plan to use this for big heavy messes on a daily basis, maybe buy something larger and more robust. But for 90% of homeowners, this is a perfect fit and great addition to your garage. By the way, with the dry filter and vacuum bag installed, this makes a good ash vac - not a single bit of ash has blown out of the exhaust or otherwise leaked on me yet. THIS IS NOT DESIGNED TO BE USED AS AN ASH VAC, and using it as such may void the warranty or shorten it's life. Just relating that for me, it works great for that purpose in addition to the stuff it was actually engineered to do. For the money, absolutely worth a shot. Give it a try.

Highly recommended all-around vacuum
Great vacuum! Strong suction, quiet, and versatile. Comes with standard 1.25” so the attachment set can be expanded by going to a local vac shop and purchasing other attachments that may be needed. I recently bought a new house, that has only hardwood floors. Any straight suction vacuum I looked at was quite expensive so I looked at the wet dry vacuum range, and the VAC master seemed to come in at the best price. I used it for the first time last night and was absolutely amazed by the amount of suction it has and how quiet it was. I would definitely recommend this vacuum to anyone that is looking for a straight suction domestic vacuum. The only reason why it’s not getting a full five star review from me is because the extension wands are not very rigid so when you push forward on area rugs, they tend to flex. But I will be rectifying that by ordering metal extension wands.

Works great, good price and is going strong.
Quite nice. Strong and keeps going when you need it. Through basement flooding and woodworking projects it's worked just fine through it all. The biggest complaint I have is the foam filter for water use ripped after one use. I don't bother replacing and it has worked although I don't recommend doing what I do. Great value. Would buy again if it ever died.

This Amazing Machine will give R2-D2 and Shopvac a run for it's money
OK, first of all, Amazon shipped this using a hyper-jet (faster then Fast) got the Vacmaster within 56 hours after ordering it. When it was opened, everything was there...well packed both inside the box. And by Amazon. The directions (and yes I'm a guy who reads instruction books), were really good. Simple and to the point. Follow them and you will not go wrong. Don't follow them and you may screw something up. That said let's get to the review. This Vac is extremely lightweight (even full) easy to carry and it turns on a dime. Upon first turning it on, I used it in the mud room, where the Blue Heeler sleeps during the evening and on hot days. It sucked up everything. Dog hair, loose bits of organic dogfood, dirt, tiny twigs, wood shavings from the back 40, dust balls, pebbles, and of course chunks of mud. It comes with multiple attachments, edger, wood floor head, even an attachment for cleaning sofas, chairs etc. So far no backing up of debris in the extension wands (also included) Someone at Vacmaster was really thinking when they built this thing, the cool features are endless when you start using it. It is an excellent dual purpose Vacmaster WET/DRY vac. We've used it on wood floors with ease, low pile carpet and it keeps going strong. One of the neatest features for the vac is on the cord and machine itself. You can Velcro the cord back in it's original position AND attach the plug right to the rear of the machine, keeping it compact and neat (Very Felix of me I know). The footprint is small, it can be kept under a shelf, in a small closet or just out in full view and NOT take up space). The power for this Vacmaster is very good, amazing actually for its compact size. I am really impressed. I guess at this point I can not say anything against this machine, so far, using in DRY mode, it is outstanding, Better then my 12 gallon Craftsman for sure. Tomorrow we're taking it for a spin, outside to use the blower to blow of all things, leaves left over from the Fall. I'll update you all on the progress and possible add a video. In summary I recommend the Vacmaster 6 gallon for the home, shop, just about anywhere you need a powerful small Vac. Oh by the way we've named it R2-D2 for it's style and looks. Have a Great Day!!

This vacuum takes use and abuse and still works amazing.
It's funny, I was ordering vacuum bags and a new filter for my Vacmaster this afternoon, and just wanted to take a moment to share how I feel about this product. I have had this vacuum for two years as of tomorrow 02/09/16. I use it just about everyday. Sometimes multiple times a day. This vacuum has been a godsend since I've had it. It's powerful and I have only noticed it losing suction when the bag inside is so full that the dirt (specifically, dirt, dog hair, wood ash, straw, sticks, bits of tree bark, mud, gravel or whatever else gets tracked into the house) starts plugging up where the bag and hose attach to the vacuum. That would be almost to the point that the bag is ready to bust. So when I notice that the vacuum is losing suction, that's my final indication that if I don't change the bag there is going to be a revolt. Now for the bags. They hold a lot, and I mean A LOT! We have a farm, and unfortunately the farm house sits almost at the lowest part of the property (My father-in-law goofed on that one. He built the place back in the early 70's. So go figure. It was a hazy decade. Anyone who lived through the 70's knows what I'm talking about.) So with that said, we get a lot of dirt and stuff tracked into the house by the four of us, the 3 dogs, the pig (eh-hem, the house pig), and occasionally a chicken will sneak in (those chickens play dumb and put on a great poker face, but they pick up on things quickly.) We also heat with a wood stove so there's wood ash to contend with, and our farm is surrounded by other farms and open fields that grow commercially. So there is a tremendous amount of dust that is generated from us and the other farms. It's challenging to keep a clean house here, and I have gone through a lot of vacuums over the years. I once had a very expensive Dyson, which was an awesome vacuum until I moved out of a well manicured sub-division to the backside of hell's half acre. That was 10 years ago, and the Dyson gave up the ghost about a year later. Then I had about 3 other run-of-the-mill cheap vacuums, which didn't last at all, and finally an Electrolux that cost a small fortune. It was great for a while, but this place was too much for it. It sits in a corner now in the utility room and isn't good for much except holding up the wall. So two years ago, I bought the Vacmaster as a last ditch effort and it has saved my sanity. I couldn't recommend this vacuum more. It really gets put through the paces here. It's used, definitely abused and (knock on wood) I haven't had one day of trouble out of it. I sweep, vacuum and dust mop the floors constantly. If it wasn't for this vacuum, I would never even begin to keep up with things around here. Rest assured, this vacuum in my honest and humble opinion is worth its weight in dirt and gold.

Slurps up broken glass
Our large dyson vacumn was not sucking anything up and our handheld has lost its power as well so I wanted to get a shopvac that I could use indoors and outdoors, that would not take up a lot of space, that I could also use with a HEPA filter. Read many reviews of many different shopvacs abd this one had such great reviews and for the price sounded great. Bought extra bags and a HEPA filter that has yet to arrive. LIKE: - It arrived Early (last night thank god)! we had a thick glass baking dish explode in the oven (don’t ask). Well this morning I brought this vacmaster to the oven and it just slurped up all the broken glass! Of course I removed the larger fragments first. Then I proceeded to vacumn our whole house including the outdoor patio rug. It works wonderfully and I’m so happy I want to vacumn more but there’s nothing left to vacumn. Stairs were easy, the unit is so light I can hold it in one hand while vacuuming stairs with other. Our place hasn’t felt this clean in awhile! I will never buy a non shop-vac vacumn ever again! - very easy to maneuver w wheels - very small! Easy to store DISLIKE: - The long wand and nozzles are very cheap plastic. When I use the long wand it kept falling apart No matter how tightly I pushed them in. Would be great to fit a better quality floor wand for this. But it still sucked things up. - wish it had a longer power cord. Yes an extension can be used as well. - the vacumn bag was difficult to get on without the bottom edge coming loose. - wish the hose came with some sort of storage bag that attaches to unit. So far I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend to others for a house vacumn that can also be used for outdoors.
