Question 1

What does the ingredient 'Vegetable capsule (HMPC)' mean?

Accepted Answer

'Vegetable capsule (HPMC)' refers to a type of capsule shell made from a plant-based material that serves as an alternative to gelatin capsules, which are animal-derived.

HPMC capsules are ideal for vegans and vegetarians, and they are also generally well-tolerated by people with dietary restrictions or allergies.

Question 2

Is it 2400 mg or 240 mg of mg glycinate? the bottle has contradicting numbers, and the amazon heading cites 2400 mg, which sounds extreme.

Accepted Answer

Hello,

Thanks for your question. The 2,400mg refers to the total amount of magnesium glycinate per 4 capsule dose. The 240mg refers to the elemental value of magnesium. This is the magnesium your body can utilise.

Magnesium citrate for example, has a higher elemental percentage, however it has a much lower bioavailability so is not as well absorbed. So, whilst genuine non-buffered magnesium glycinate only has between 10-11%, it is much better absorbed into the body and therefore better utilised.

I hope that helps but if you have any further questions please do let me know.
