The alphabet ideas in this are too complex for my 2 1/2 year old to grasp (all items pictured in one area of a page begin with the letter P, for example) but there’s no harm in presenting material that is enjoyable even if it’s lost on him at this time. NOTE: these books (big Elmo lift a flap) are VERY busy, with lots of flaps and color and things going on. That’s part of the appeal for my son, but if your child is easily visually overstimulated, this may not be the book for you. Or perhaps just not the best choice for a bedtime read. Otherwise, it’s a colorful and fun book. Review: GREAT book if your kids love Elmos and "lift the flap" books and this does not disappoint! - This is an ADORABLE book that combines my childs love of opening the flaps with Elmo and all of the characters, plus it has the bonus of being an educational book due to all of the letters of the alphabet. It not only lists the letters of the alphabet, but it shows pictures of 5 or more items that begin with that letter as well, so the kids can see the words in action. I also really love that there are so many flaps to open in here. There are the big flaps for the letters, but also lots and lots of little flaps to hide items behind that begin with the letters. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this book. Its fantastic! And so is the Elmo's Numbers book that is in the same format. They are fantastic!

We love Elmo!
Great book for kids to start introducing words. It has many pull out/flap sections. I made the mistake of starting this book early with my little one and she ripped one of the flaps, so I haven't pulled out all the flaps on the rest of the pages. There is little text, like a sentence on each page and then lots of words. The sentences do ryme, which I love with children's books so I can sing the book to my baby.

The kids LOVE this book! It is so interactive and fun!
There are so many flaps in this book. The kids have a great time turning all of them. The kids love it. This is her absolute favorite book. Both my 2 year old and 3 year old LOVE the book. I often find the 2 year old “reading” this book to herself.

Great Book, very happy with purchase!
I purchased this book for my 22 month old son for Christmas and he loves it!!! Before, bed every night I let him choose which books we read and he has chosen this book every night. He loves flipping up the flaps and calling out the pictures under them. This book has a lot of pictures and words for you child to discover and learn. To be honest, in 3 weeks, we are only on page 4. I am trying to let him soak in everything that we are reading. My only critique is that I wish the flaps were more sturdy. My son is very curious and a little destructive, so I have to be careful about just letting him take the book and read on his own.

My 22 month old granddaughter’s favorite book!
My daughter mentioned how much her little one was enjoying watching Elmo for her 30 mins of TV each day. So, when I saw this book, I had to order it. It’s now her favorite. She asks for it and just sits and reads it herself. Beyond the alphabet, there are sooo many words (many familiar and others new) under the flaps. She loves opening the flaps and saying the words she knows, it the sound an animal makes. The book is oversized; the flaps are very sturdy; and the flaps close as you turn the page. A great investment that she will enjoy for a long time!

Great for toddlers who love Sesame Street
My two year old nephew who loves Elmo, loves this book. It has flaps for every letter so it provides some education for them as well.

Awesome
This book is amazing. Seriously awesome for getting kids interested in their letters. Large flaps are perfect for little hands and keeping children engaged in the book. Each letter has a lift the flap with rhymes and examples of words that start with that letter under the flap as well as on that particular page in the book. Bright pictures and your favourite sesame characters! Great large sized book. Would definitely recommend. We have the numbers version as well and that one is great too!
