I bought this about 50 days ago as a spare laptop charger to go in my travel bag so that when I travel to my office or somewhere else other than home I don't have to pack up my original laptop charger. I bought the one the specifically says here on Amazon that is made for my laptop. So I've used it maybe 20 times maximum in the last 50 days and today when I plugged it in in my office to use it I smelled smoke and as I'm looking around trying to figure out where it's coming from I can see where I have this charger plugged into the wall smoke was pouring out of the charger so I snatched it out of the wall and held it by the cable and looked and I could see that the smoke was coming from the inside and so I took it outside and I left it out there for about 30 minutes. When I went back out to look at it you can see how it looked when I brought it back inside that it literally did melt and I have no clue what could cause that other than some kind of defect. Of course it was outside of the return, so Amazon didn't want to do anything for me and when I was trying to explain to Amazon is that nowhere in America would anyone say that it's okay to sell someone a brand new laptop charger and it catches on fire less than 2 months later and just tell them oh well you got 2 months worth of use out of it so good luck buy another one every 2 months. Eventually I was able to get Amazon to give me a partial refund but now I need to go buy another travel laptop charger while I'm being penalized by losing money as if I did something wrong here. Whatever happened to manufacturer warranties or honoring some standard of quality?
