Worked great on my shed cedar siding!
My cedar sided shed is 20 years old and the front side facing the sun was totally grey. Here is what I did……. I took a 5 gallon bucket and added1 gallon of water to it. I next added 1 cup of this product to it and then used my electric drill w/stirring paddle to mix it up for about 13 min. I took this 1 Gallon mixture and put it into a 1 gallon sprayer. I started spraying at the top of a wall and could immediately see a dark sludge flowing down the wall. I scrubbed the siding with a handheld good bristled brush. You will be amazed at how gunked up the brush gets and what’s flowing down the wall. Every minute or so I would take the garden hose and spray clean the brush and then back to brushing the wall. Once I got the all the wall brushed, I took the hose on jet spray and hosed the wall down thoroughly. Since the siding was exposed to cleaner and water it still looked pretty dark but I could see various spots of patches of red showing through. After the shed thoroughly dried after about 4 hours, the wall looked great about 90%. I touched up a couple of areas and am now 100% satisfied. This product worked fine for me but I had many doubts after reading some reviews.

This works really good!
It took off the old Cedar stain from my shed and gable. I was impressed. The old Cedar stain came off easily and I was able to apply primer and a coat of latex paint without any bleeding. You need to mix it up according to directions. Use a 5 gallon bucket and a large paint mixing stick. Use a pump sprayer. It will start coming off within a few short minutes if not immediately. Use a good water hose with some pressure or a power washer on low pressure to rinse Use a quality type of primer if you plan on painting over what's left of the Cedar stain.

Works but don’t expect the impossible
I have approximately 500 sq. Ft of rough cut cedar siding. My siding had many decades of build up to the point it just looked like black siding. On contact you will see residue running to the ground. Sprayed it continuously and let it sit for 15 and up to 30 minutes and repeated process using a 3000 psi pressure washer with 45 degree angle. It was lightening up but wasn’t stripping the cedar like I wanted. So I resorted to 15 degree angle on the pressure washer and about 2 inches from the siding. Washed with the grain. Yes it raised the grain in some areas but in the end I had a light colored cedar. Later on after it dried really well I sealed it with clear sealer and it brought out some of the red again. I don’t have before pictures but I posted some of the “after sealer” results. It’s been two weeks since I completed it. These pictures are in the shade and doesn’t really show the full color. My main point is, this product doesn’t work miracles nor did I expect it to. But it did help with the process. Scrubbing wasn’t an option. I ruined several brushes trying to scrub it. Brushes were full of oil.

Terrible Product
Not good. Expected the product to make my cedar siding look better, it looked much worse, made the wood look dark and old instead of bright and new. I had to bleach and do a heavy pressure wash to remove the effects of cedar wash (2X). Then I had some over spray of the cedar wash on my windows - NO caution on the label to avoid getting on glass. after several attempts to wash the residue off (window cleaner won't touch it) I called the customer support they said to use easy oven cleaner - after 2 cleanings with easy off and 2 more cleanings with glass cleaner my glass is ALMOST clear of any residue. So I paid the price for the product, applied it, then removed it, then spent several hours and the cost of glass & oven cleaner - this product cost me around 12 hours of my life doing physical labor mostly to remove the effects of this terrible product.

It does work somewhat
I have cedar timbers on my front porch that needed cleaned before staining and sealing. Did a lot of research and this product appealed to me because of plant safety and I could use a garden hose to rinse it off. I did not want to use a power washer on cedar. I mixed one batch which seems to take forever to get mixed. Hard to tell when it is ready so I stirred for the time noted on the package. Read on line that this is basically just hydrogen peroxide, so I researched the volume of H2O2 . Turns out I could use the 3% peroxide sold in drug stores. I bought one that had a sprayer on it for a buck. Used it and compared the results. The dollar stuff worked much better and you can actually see it turning white as it should to kill the mold and mildew with no over spray. Be prepared to scrub it off no matter what product you use.

Clean the wood first.
Was looking for something non toxic for plants, insects and animals. This was the best I could find. It’s in preparation for wood treatment.

Shocked at how well this worked!
I was shocked and amazed at how easy this was. Zero scrubbing at all. I sprayed on, let sit for 5-10 minutes and sprayed off with a garden hose. It was wild to watch black colored water run down and the natural color of the cedar shake come back to life. We thought the home we just bought would have to be painted. This product is amazing!

Good stuff.
Very impressive. Worked better than I expected. I couldn’t tell the difference between where I used this product (I sprayed it on and rinsed with a hose) and where I used a pressure washer. My cedar shakes were in rough shape and though it didn’t get all the stains out, it was a very good start. I think those who say it doesn’t work probably didn’t stir it for the full fifteen minutes as per the instructions.
