The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue - Illustrated edition

I had searched everywhere for this special illustration novel and couldn’t even order the normal hardback or paperback. Extremely difficult and only through Amazon could I get a copy. I love the story. It leaves me fascinated by Addie and Luc. Plus I’m showing you the inside, how beautiful it is. It’s a collectors book! And very cheap on Amazon as getting a second hand copy now will be very expensive and hard to find. I’ve hear there is going to be a film adaptation of it. Enjoy yourselves!

I was introduced to V.E Schwab with Gallant and I was quick to fall in love with her writing style. What a delight Addie Larue was. The story, the character, the poetry, everything is so compelling in that book, I read it in two sitting simply because I had to go to work, or else I know I could have finished it in one afternoon. Addie is such an interesting character, just like Henry and everyone else, I was fascinated. Cursed to never die and never to be remembered, it is a bitter life that does not sound worth living and yet, Addie finds beautiful things and beautiful people. She touched them so intensely that she remained in their hearts even forgotten. This is not really a love story, it's a twisted dance with the devil, each step a held breath and hope that victory is near but never really is. Addie, Henry and Luc are incredibly charming and even side characters have their moments to shine as well. I definitely recommend!

Absolutely beautiful book, the artwork is gorgeous and now has a prime spot on my shelf!

Perfect little book, I did read the paperback but let it go,I missed it daily ( note to self books imprint on the reader) - but my feed showed me this illustrated version arrived in good order with slip cover - obviously packed by a book lover. A passing comment was oh it looks new I do hope they produce a movie of this it’s really special

I loved the concept of this book and found it very engaging throughout. Whilst the ending wasn't what I'd hoped for, it did leave a certain element open to interpretation. The only bit I found to be a hole in the storyline was that Addie spent full days with people, drinking etc, and at no point did they go to the toilet and then come back and forget her?

This is a lovely collectors edition of a beautifully written book. There are plenty of illustrations without it detracting from the story. The images are delicate and fitting and it’s lovely to see Addie come to life. I loved my copy so have also purchased as a gift for a friend.

I saw this on sale and knew I needed it. The edition is stunning and it came in perfect condition (surprising for amazon, well done and thank you!). The story is yet to read and so I cannot tell you how much I love it, although I'm sure I will 😊 I can say for sure is that I have heard nothing but good things 🩷 For me a book is an experience which starts when it is delivered or purchased in person. Everything from the beautiful cover, to the smell of crisp pages, to the feel of the raised wording of the title and the the pages between your fingers. All these things build up to the story and puts me in the mood for what lies between the pages because as much as I'd love to say otherwise, I really do judge a book by its cover 🤍

It's a beautiful edition! Although the paper is a tad thin then normal and graphs is more on photo paper side. It's stunning

Such a beautiful copy! I loved this book so much, definitely my top read of the year.

This was a very unique, wonderful, heartbreaking story. I was hooked quickly and found it hard to put this down. The audio was fantastic and worth the credit. This illustrated edition is beautiful with pretty artwork in the middle and also scattered throughout the book. Well worth the $30ish I paid. Definitely recommend.

This was my favourite read of 2024, I still think about it almost a year later. This edition is absolutely gorgeous too

The book came looking a little old, there were yellow spots beginning to appear around the book, and the insert was a little black as well. Minor imperfections on the book. The insert of the illustrations were also popping out when the book is closed, which made my OCD tick a little. Just a little sad as $40 isn’t cheap! But otherwise the book is gorgeous and I love the design and feel of the book! Can’t wait to collect more :) I have yet to read it, I hope it’s as good as people say it is!
