Cultivate kindness & compassion for yourself and others! The Self-Compassion Deck offers 50 mindfulness-based practices for use at home, in the classroom, or therapy office. Commit to these easy, yet meaningful exercises in kindheartedness and gain a deeper appreciation for yourself and your life. The practice of self-compassion has been proven to: - Improve well-being - Regulate emotions - Reduce depression and anxiety Review: Excellent cards - I love the box and the art work. The cards are all about how to think of ways to show yourself some compassion. Sometimes we can be way too hard on our self or perhaps we think being kind to our self is being weak. If this is you, these are some good cards. Sometimes showing kindness to our self increases our ability to show kindness to others. Much is in the way we think about kindness and compassion in general. If you're journaling for growth and success, you can be a little hard on yourself with regard to being accomplished and self-disciplined. These cards can help balance the determination to succeed with self-forgiveness when you mess up. Balance is the key to life. I have truly appreciated these cards for that reason. Review: I'm a therapist and I love these for "homework" for clients. - I have my clients select 1-3 of these cards at the end of their session, jot down or take a quick cell pic of them, and do them as their "homework" for the week. This is the best, most edifying "homework" ever. Clients come back sometimes with stories or things that the cards brought up for them. I love these, wish I could give decks of them to other therapists and even clients at the community mental health clinic I work at. They're great little helpers to have on hand.

These are fabulous! I just gave them to a friend for her birthday and we sat around the dinner table reading the cards and sharing our thoughts. The author Christopher Willard is a wonderful psychologist! Iโm taking his online mindfulness course now and loving it! Way to go Dr. Willard!

Slightly helpful
Not all the cards will apply to anyone. You are supposed to acknowledge and think about the cards that do apply. You can ignore cards that do not apply or throw them away. I find them slightly helpful but not sure if it is my mood and ability to receive the words on the cards or if it is perhaps not applicable to me. Some have been eye opening or thought provoking.

More than just cards
These are the best of this type of card out there. They combine affirmations & reflections with action in a way that is really positive and helps create change within. They are especially transformative if you each draw a card and witness each other. I have used these cards for closing ceremonies at retreats, with friends, with familyโฆ.every time at least one someone tears up, having a powerful moving moment that creates a shift in life going forward. The shift created ripples to all of those in attendance as we share and witness for each other with these cards. These really are amazing I canโt recommend them enough

Not the usual use but well recieved
I take this deck and a couple of other similar deks to class each week and let students grab a random card. Of the three I use, this is the most often chosen deck. The first week everyone was required to take one, after that it was optional, but I recommended they use the cards to journal for their own benefit. Out of a class of 24 nursing students studying mental health, about 4-6 have continued to pick a card each week. And others randomly look through and read the cards, commenting to peers. It may not be the intended way to use them, but I would say they are a hit. These students have no extra time in their lives, so the continued interest shows value.

Not Exactly What I Was Looking For, But Still Good
I didn't really understand what I was getting into with these cards. I was hoping for something Buddhist but they were more oriented towards self-affirmations and just simple pop psychology. They would be good for a novice practitioner who just wanted to explore something simple, but didn't make it to my Tarot deck supply (I have six). I gave mine away. Not to say not to buy them; just don't expect too much.

Great for teens/ younger clients
I work with kids/ teens, and enjoy using these in sessions. They are useful for: initiating conversations for those who struggle with social skills, along with anxiety & perfectionistic thinking, kids who are down on themselves. Honestly I was unsure if they would be too corny for teens. I spread them out and just take turns reading/ completing the task. Then I have the client choose a few to work on for the week! That way if they donโt vibe well with some they donโt have to utilize it. I donโt use the โwrite your ownโ- I get the point of it, but I always suggest or say if thereโs anything you want to add or feel would be beneficial, etc.. I donโt need blank cards, just sayin.. otherwise, amazing!! ๐
