Just makes your cursive look better!
I love this pen. Quality feels sturdy and the weight is very comfortable in hand, especially with the cap seated. It seems to balance the feel of the pen when writing. The cap does not stay on firmly however that’s not a negative in my opinion, just something I’m aware of. I tend to prefer the more bold line of this nib to the fine lines of some of the other nib styles. It is a joy to write cursive with this pen is high-quality, especially for the price and I like the feel the barrel in my hand. It’s easy to hold and comfortable to write with for long periods of time. It is durable and I have used it on high-quality paper as well as standard lined college rule paper in it flows well. It allows a good speed to my handwriting. There seems to be something about the balance this pen offers that just makes me have better writing days as far as penmanship goes. I would like to own more of them and just have them in different desks in my house. I love this bed.

Great, inexpensive fountain pen
I simply love this pen, especially because of the stub nib that gives a little flair to my writing. I've just tested it with the iroshizuku ink in the color kon-peki, which is gorgeous!

Nice pen for the price if you don't wanna break the bank.
love the pen. After 3 or 4 months of using it, it's still a daily writer. It writes smooth and flows nicely. Doesn't clog often at all. It's lightweight but it feels high quality. Made of plastic but doesn't feel cheap. It's easy to use and the grip is ergonomic. Some pens when you post the cap they feel too long but this one doesn't feel long or heavy with a posted cap. It works as it's supposed to. the nib writes nicely.

Decent writing calligraphy pen.
Writes decent although the disposable ones are smoother. This one is a little smoother than the .5 mm line one that I also ordered. Note 1 mm is pretty wide so they formally classify it as a calligraphy pen. That does make for a classy looking signature though if that is your primary use as it is for me. Otherwise, it's pretty light and the design is pretty uninspiring. Many others out there look and feel better.

Not just a great entry level pen, but a great pen overall!
I have well over 100 fountain pens, most in the $80-90 range, a few $300+, and several in between. The Metro was my first re-entry pen after a lengthy hiatus. This is the 7th that I have bought in 3 years. Why? Well, the stub nib is just glorious. One of my absolute favorites. All of my Metros now have stubs. But wait, that's not all. It is a solid pen, with a lovely finish, that is comfortable, well-balanced, and not oversized. Even though it's metal, it's not heavy like some well-known inexpensive Chinese brands, so your hand won't tire during long writing sessions. And because I like to change ink often, the converter doesn't hold too much ink like some piston fillers. And one of my favorite aspects of this pen is the ease in cleaning. The nib/feed assembly easily twists/slides out and fits back in with no doubt about it's placement. Because Pilot's nibs are proprietary, they only seat one way on the feed, and are easily reinserted. The Metro is quite simply one of the best values on the market.

Pilot Metropolitan Black Fountain Pen With 1.0mm Stub Nib
While the pen has an attractive appearance, I found the Stub nib version unsuitable because it totally lacks smoothness. Pilot makes great writing instruments, so I'm hoping their Fine or Medium nib versions will prove more satisfactory than the regrettable experience I had with its Stub nib product line.

A Wonderfully Economical Yet Smooth Writing Sturdy Pen
My old Pilot Metropolitan did a swan dive off the backyard table, so I went and got another one. Fountain pen users know that the Pilot Metropolitan is a workhorse. It has good weight and is, besides the nib, almost indestructible. I like the feel of the pen in my hand - it is heavy and the grip is not too small. If you want a pen that is reliable and yet replaceable without mortgaging your house or selling your firstborn child, this is your pen.

Simple, sleek and truly impressive!!
Can I just say how much I love the Metropolitan pen?! It comes with a case, a cartridge (black), and a CON-40 converter—such a great value right out of the box. The body is a sleek, plain black with a glossy band in the middle that adds a subtle touch of style. The snap-on cap feels familiar and secure, and it can be posted comfortably while writing. At around 27 grams, the weight is just right—not too light, not too heavy—making it perfect for everyday use. I also really love the nib. It’s stainless steel with simple yet elegant engraving that gives it a refined look without being over the top. This has easily become my number one favourite pen, followed by the Pilot Kakuno. I had a feeling I’d like it, but I didn’t expect to love it this much!

The best beginner fountain pen
The pen very well constructed. It comes with a nice storage box and a converter. The ink flow is very smooth. Additionally, the pen is made from quality material relative to it's price tag and to other pens in the same price range. You cannot go wrong with it as beginner
