Highly Recommend
Excellent product, highly recommend. I initially ordered this and received one that didnt work. This happens - some products are just duds. But I got in touch with customer service and they immediately sent me a replacement. I wanted to use it for awhile before leaving a review, and I can say without any doubt that this is one of the best heated waterers you can get for your flock. We've reached 20 degrees F here already and have been below freezing for days, and it's working exceptionally well. Keep in mind it only kicks on when it reaches a certain temperature, so the water doesn't stay "warm", it prevents freezing. 5 stars for the actual product. 5 stars for the company that didnt hesitate to take care of their customer. Absolutely recommend. Its worth the money, just get it.

Highly Recommended
Experience chicken tender here. I've used many waterers, and this is the best warming type I've used. Easy to refill and not too large at 3 gallons. Easy to keep clean too. Works well in cold weather, but haven't used below zero degrees F yet. Chickens like the large drink trough all the way around the tank, less fighting for position. Highly recommend and I will buy this again.

Liquid water down to -20f , Yet cheaply/ thin and flimsy made.
Really thin Plastic top, Flimsy and difficult to line up and seal. Only locks on in one direction with very small tabs to hold it. But here's what surprised me... -20f this morning. Keep in mind it is in the run out of the wind and drafts but -20f, WOW. My last waterer would be good down to -5f. I went out this morning to change it out with a thawed one and found liquid water in the lip, and the chickens drinking. At -20f. l was amazed. Its still really cheaply made and In the winter I would let this warm up inside for a long time to avoid breaking any plastic tabs or bowl areas. Let them warm up well before any attempt to fill it.

It's been two-ish years and it's going into it's third winter RECENT EDIT ADDED ON BOTTOM
I love this waterer. I held off doing a review because I needed to see it stand the test of time. 2022/2023 will be it's third winter since I've owned it. It keeps water thawed. It does exactly what it's supposed to. My chickens use it with ease. A simple tip to help people who's chickens have never used a nipple waterer before: take away all other sources of water and only provide this. Even take your finger or a stick and poke the metal nipples so that water comes out (make sure you have at least ONE chicken watching). They'll get it. But if you have ANY other waterers, they will never use this. So don't start this waterer if you have small chicks or it's 98ยฐF outside. A cool spring or fall day. They'll get it. Edit on 11/18/2022: at some point, I must have gotten the base wet. Our first official freeze and the waterer didn't thaw. I didn't notice for 3 days. Went into the coop to refill the waterer and noticed the water line hadn't moved. Opened the lid and it was solid ice inside. Took it in the house, unscrewed the base, lifted the bottom off, and saw ice. The base isn't sealed off in any way, so when I washed the inside over the summer, water must have gotten in and I didn't notice. Froze the whole heating element and now it's garbage. Super sad about it. And now they're, like, $25 more than when I originally purchased. Took away 2 stars for the designing of the base. Not water-proof in any way. Edit - 01/06/2023: my husband and I took apart the base on 11/18/2022. He fixed the corroded parts, we dried the entire base, let it sit with a fan pointed on it for OVER 24 hours, then put it all back together. And it worked. It worked through multiple freezes. It was awesome. I check it every morning, though, so I know my chickens have water. Checked it on 01/04/2023, and it was frozen solid. So now I'm thinking it's condensation instead of ANY fault of mine. That base was bone-dry when we put it back together. Heck, the whole thing was dry. The base is extremely faulty and is the entire reason why this waterer is garbage. We won't purchase a new one and will figure out something else.

Nipples can freeze up below -7F
I've used these for several years and never had an issue until temps dropped well below zero. Got down to -15F this morning and while the water within all 3 of the units was still fluid, all of the nipples were frozen up. One of the feeders stopped heating after 2 winters of use. Water had gotten into the heating element on the bottom. After taking it apart and drying it out it wa working again and still is after several really cold months. When temps get below -10F, I place the water dispenser in the coop with a an external heat lamp. Works great even when temps dipped well below -25F. The nipples didn't drip or cause any issues inside the coop.

Keeps water from freezing in the winter
This is absolutely the best chicken waterer I have ever purchased. Itโs durable. It holds a lot of water and the material is good. I would highly recommend this for Chickens.

Five Stars - Saved My Chickens from the Texas Freeze!
Living in the Texas Panhandle means dealing with some crazy weather, and this past arctic blast was brutal! Our original heated chicken waterer cracked in the freeze, leaving my flock without access to water. That's a disaster waiting to happen, especially in such cold temperatures. Thankfully, this Farm Innovators heated waterer was a lifesaver! It kept the water ice-free even during the worst of the freeze. It's well-made and seems durable enough to withstand the elements. The size is perfect for my flock of five, and it's easy to clean and refill. Raising chickens has become not just a fun and educational experience for the family, but also a real necessity, especially with the recent egg shortages and price increases. Having a reliable heated waterer is absolutely essential for keeping my chickens healthy and productive, especially during the harsh Texas winters. This Farm Innovators waterer did exactly what it was supposed to do, and I'm incredibly grateful for it. Highly recommend for anyone raising chickens in areas with freezing temperatures!

Hold the reservoir and base steady when you set it up
This fountain works wonderful, however, you have to be careful when you fill it up and turn it right side up. Itโs very easy to come apart as there is no lock to keep the reservoir from slipping away from the base. You have to make sure you do not turn the reservoir at all or youโre gonna have a flood!! On a cold morning the chickens had warm water to drink , that was my reason for ordering this item!our temperatures up here in Canada get a might cold! No more frozen water, what a blessing! Happy chickens!

Does the trick
I bought this waterer to replace the open heated waterer bowl in my coop. I was having issues with the humidity causing so much ice build up around the door that it would freeze shut and I would be out with a pry bar and hammer at -40 trying to get in to care for my birds. Since getting the covered waterer I have not had this humidity problem. Temperatures have not gotten any colder than -25ยฐC since then so I cannot attest to how well it works below that temp. All of my hens and rooster figured out how the nipples work right away. My 2 cockerels took longer to figure it out. A couple of times I went in and found they had gotten the lid off, but I soon realized it requires pushing down to get a tight fit and haven't had this problem since. It does drip and form ice below the nipples from the birds dripping some water, but not a huge deal for me. The coop actually smells better when temps rise to around the freezing level due to the reduced humidity. It does have a relatively short cord, so plan to install it near the plug in. Overall very happy with the product. UPDATE: I have now been using this waterer for 3 winters and it is still going strong, but has had a couple of issues over the years. It works well at -40, but the lid freezes on at temps below -30. It comes off just fine with the help of a flat head screw driver. After 1 year it stopped working. I brought it inside and discovered that water had managed to find its way into the heating coil compartment below the waterer. I took it apart, got it dried out and used silicone to make the seal water tight. No problem since then. A few months ago a nipple started leaking. I brought it inside and found that it had calcium buildup on the rubber ring on the inside of the nipple. I cleaned it off with some CLR and rinsed it thoroughly. Again, problem solved. I would highly recommend this waterer. It has survived the test of time and has more than enough water for my 25 chickens to last a full day.

Easy to use
Works as it should in all kinds of weather and makes for less work in winter in Ontario by keeping water from freezing up

Good waterer
We already had one of these waterers and needed another as our flock increased this year. It is sometimes a pain to get the bottom to screw on, but we use the opening in the bottom to refill which eliminates that issue. Keeps the water from freezing, the waterer from last year is still working well.
