We have tried and it does not work.

Will this make slime?

It doesn't work well when making slime, I ended up buying Traditional Landry Starch instead and that worked.

A trend that has faded out a bit now, you used this with some other things to literally make the ‘slime’. You can make different colours, add accessories into it. Look on utube to understand more.

Is Borax substitute strong enough to kill ground ivy ? (borax itself has always been highly regarded as an efficient killer of ground ivy)

Sorry I can't say for sure that it will kill ground ivy, as I have not tested it on ground ivy. I guess the only way to find out is to purchase the product and try it. It isn't expensive and can be quite versatile.
