Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone – Gryffindor Edition

A beautiful paperback edition of this classic book. The red cover and red-edged pages are visually highly attractive and I am very tempted to buy the other editions in this format... Also, the story is not bad either. If the author keeps this up, she may well go on to have a very successful career 😉

Great Book as I’m sure we all know. We all know and love the story. The new cover is beautiful for a unique 20th year edition. The quality of the delivery way appalling... I would image that the scratches and, dents and rips happened in the warehouse and not the delivery persons fault.

Very happy with the look and feel of this book. I’ve been collecting the house editions. Love all of them. Great for any Harry Potter fan. Will keep forever as they look great. Great read as well.

Great new edition. with drawings, illustrations & lots of little extras you do not find in the original book. Its almost like a single disc DVD film, then you buy the 2 disc version with all the extras... This book is the 2 disc version if you will. great for the potter fan collectors.

Fantastic anniversary special edition. I love that the book has been released in four versions for each of the four houses and that they are also in house colours. The extra information at the front with information about the founders of each house and other information. I love it! Bought all four versions!

Very nicely presented. I'll get my only complaint out of the way first: The information in the "Famous Gryffindor Alumni" and "Memorable Gryffindor Students" sections is mainly a re-hash of character info that's easily gleaned from reading the books themselves. That being said, there are plenty of positives: The illustrations of Godric Gryffindor and Minerva McGonagall are beautiful, and pretty close to how I always imagined them; The House Ghost illustrations on the back covers of all four versions are a really nice touch; I love that each house version has the primary house colour sprayed on the page edges (visible when the book is closed). My book did come with an annoying "20 years" stickers on the front cover, but I was able to remove it without too much difficulty. Some very delicately applied white spirit took care of the residue (plus a careful sponging to get rid of the white spirit itself). Due to the finish, it was harder to remove the wretched sticker from this paperback version than it was to remove it from the dust jacket of the corresponding hardback. I fervently wish for an end to this fad of putting crappy stickers on beautiful things! Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase, and at the time of writing this review, it's quite the bargain. So, I'm glad I snapped it up. (My four-star review applies to this specific edition btw. The novel itself gets five stars).

I seriously wish the House design was embossed in the actual hardcover of the book (without the jacket it's pretty boring) but otherwise this is pretty cool. I'm a big enough nerd to have shelled out some pocket money to add this to my collection. I wish I could buy all four but as it is I had to choose one so of course I went for my own House.

Bought this for a secret santa and she was incredibly excited. Probably would've been better if they placed the logos and all on the book cover instead of the protection. Overall, I'm happy on the looks and feels of this book

This book is beautiful. And it is a wonderful edition for any Harry Potter fans bookshelf!!! Just make sure you purchase the proper house colors:)

I order the paperback and honestly is beautiful! The red is such an eye-catcher and the actual Gryffindor symbol gorgeous. It looks great and I honestly would recommend it over the Hardcover. Of course the Hardcover would be a great collectible but in the end from what I have read it isn't that great where as the paperback is very good looking and something I would definitely get as a gift or for collecting. The only downside is that the red coloring on the sides of the pages must have slightly ran into the pages as it is pretty viable but nothing to really complain about and it surely does not influence how beautiful this book really is. 5 stars and I would recommend it to all Potterheads! Ich habe das Paperback bestellt und es ist echt Super! Total schön und das Rot ist ein Absolutes eye-catcher! Das Gryffindor symbol ist klar and sehr schön vom ansehen her. Ich würde es eher empfehlen anstatt das Hardcover. Obwohl das Hardcover für Sammler die bessere wahl ist finde ich dass das Paperback einfach besser ausseht und praktischer ist. Das einzige nachteil ist das die Rote farbe in das papier etwas eingelaufen ist doch das stört eigenlich garnicht. Also auf Jeden Fall 5 Sterne!

Beautiful edition of the book. Colors are stunning and the pictures full of detail on the cover and inside the book. The extra Gryffindor information inside is fun. There is even a fun quiz to challenge the best HP fans. As an American, it is also fun to read the original UK published version of the book.

I purchased this for a University unit I later had to withdraw from, but a great investment. Perfect for when the nieces, nephews, grandchildren or your own children can read, including yourself

Well, just look at the title of the book, the edition, the aspect... it says it all. I suppose there isn't a person left on this planet who does not know who Harry Potter is. This novel is, of course, the reprinting of the first in the series, with a special anniversary presentation. I have been a great fan since the publication of this first opus, now over 20 years ago. My eldest son, then 6, learnt how to read purposely so he could devour the series!
