What you need to know before buying it!! ...From Using a Sonicare To This Oral B Battery Powered Wonder!
I had one of the expensive Sonicare brushes for years before buying this. At first I wasn't even looking in this price range, as I mistakenly assumed that only the expensive brushes could give a thorough cleaning. But no, these Oral B brushes do a superb job of cleaning your teeth. Just in a very different, yet equally if not even more effective, way to the expensive Sonicare range. Here is, in ten points, what you need to know before buying this brush: 1) If you buy directly from Amazon, the brush you'll receive will not be an "advanced Power", but an updated and superseded model called the "Pro power" model. My understanding is it's just the branding and packaging which are slightly different, yet it's still something you might note before purchase. plus, my review applies to the pro model, which I received, and so you should too. 2) Battery polarity is not at all obvious, when you're inserting batteries. It may seem, from looking at the two springs within, like both batteries should be placed with the + facing upwards, but actually only one of the batteries should be inserted this way - otherwise the brush won't work (and you might initially think you've bought a non-runner) - and you'll need keen eyesight to make out the tiny polarity markings, near the base of the battery's cover. 3) The way of telling that you're brushing with too much pressure is unlike how expensive models bleep etc. Instead you will realise you're brushing too hard, when the brush slows down (and the motor's noise changes) as you move across your teeth. You must aim to brush so that there is no slowdown in the brush's motor when brushing - as this is the best rule of thumb sign that you are indeed brushing too hard. But fear not - you'll very soon get the feel of how much pressure is the right pressure. 4) Unlike the slightly more expensive Fairywill battery powered brushes, these come with no brush head, so when storing it in a bathroom - make sure it's as far from the toilet as possible, or best stored in a cupboard. 5) It should also be suitable for children over 3, at least with supervision, and works excellently for everyone. Though it is quite noisy, I wouldn't call it intrusively noisy by any means. You will get used to it, even if it is a lower pitched motor noise than that of the more expensive brushes. 6) You will need to use two AA batteries within the brush's base. Just please take care to remove the base carefully using two fingers to squeeze its bottom to release it, and then gently pull. It's easy to do, once you get the hang of it, yet I noticed some people pulled too hard and I read that they caused the base to crack, which really shouldn't happen with just a little patience. Also, I use and highly recommend good rechargeable batteries, and they are lasting around 4 weeks, when brushing twice a day. That is absolutely excellent, as all the expensive self charge brushes from Oral B will last nowhere near as long as that - despite their fancy, non-changeable lithium ion batteries!. I read many who report that they're having to charge their upper range brushes weekly - and this inexpensive brush, in this regard as well, puts the expensive brushes to shame. As for clipping the battery base back on, pls see point (9) below... 7) Sure, the expensive brushes come with all kinds of 'bells' and 'whistles' from bluetooth functioning to 'massage' and alleged 'whitening'. However... if you really think about it, paying good money for functions which won't see you getting any fewer fillings in the long run, than if you'd simply used this brush effectively, each day, instead, makes little sense. I'm very glad I realised that fact too, as this brush cleans brilliantly, leaving (as far as the sensation seems to be)a refreshingly 'glowing' feeling all over my teeth - which lasts for at least an hour after brushing. Who needs all the frippery - when it's really about how well your brush cleans in the long run? 8) The expensive brush I used up to now, definitely gave a smoother, more 'refined' (if you will) vibration, which some may very much like, but within 4 or 5 sessions I had fully adjusted to liking the far more "rough and ready" feel of this brush - which certainly feels a lot more intensive when doing its job. What's more, it is actually far easier to tell when you're brushing with too much pressure, when using this brush (see above). And that's a good thing! 9) Removing the end cap to replace the batteries is not difficult, or... at least it's not at all *as* difficult as your then trying to replace the cap back on, with refreshed batteries in place again - which will certainly take some force (at least as far as the brush I have), and a great amount of pushing it back on! And that's even when you press the two indented buttons - an action which should open the cap lock, and then allow the bottom battery cap to fix back into place. My tip is to place the bottom battery cap on loosely at first, and then place both hands on the brush handle, while pushing the upper brush onto its base holding cap while using a firm floor. Even then, it might take a couple of minutes (not just a fair amount of pressure!) to snap it back on correctly, but thankfully this only needs to be done with good rechargeables, about once every three to four weeks. Granted, the way the cap fits, is the one and only thing I'd wish were improved about this toothbrush, yet for the price, plus the relatively pleasing infrequency of changing discharged batteries, it's actually not much of a problem at all, yet I feel it's only fair that potential buyers should still be made aware of this. YMMV of course, which means that your brush's battery cap, may easily clip back into place, after changing batteries, however I must review on my actual experience in reviewing any item, that I received. 10) For all the above reasons, and on balance, I highly recommend you buy this brush too. Thank you for reading my review and I hope it helps you. As ever, should I encounter anything else which may help you to make an informed decision before buying, I will most certainly edit this review to let you know. Lastly, your questions are very welcome, and I will do my best to answer for you, once I see them.

Great value.
I couldn't believe how reasonably priced this toothbrush was. I bought it to replace an old faithful Oral B battery powered brush and, so far, the performance of this new one has been even better.

Easy to use, great for travelling and your teeth with be gleaming in no time!
*** UPDATE - SEPT 2018*** I said I'd come back and let you know how long the batteries lasted... turns out the answer is 3 months!! Conveniently it's also about the same time you should probably replace the head too. In all fairness, the toothbrush still works with the original batteries three months later. However, you will notice a distinct lack of power whilst brushing your teeth. On occasion, the lack of power means the rotation stops completely and you don't get results anywhere near as good as before. You'll want to keep an eye out for: Weaker brushing; Poor results; A quieter noise; and an overall sensation that something isn't quite right. At that point, you should probably think about changing the batteries. For me it was 3 months, but I should probably have changed them around 2 months as I attributed the worse results to a change in toothpaste, which probably wasn't the cause. This toothbrush has been with me to Edinburgh, Dublin, Devon, Cornwall and is possibly the best investment in my oral health care that I have ever made. Overall, I still love it and use it daily! *** ORIGINAL REVIEW *** I've been using manual brushes for the last 30 years but apply so much pressure to them that I tend to get through one every couple of weeks or so. As a result, my gums were starting to suffer and it was causing a few other problems. £60+ for an electric toothbrush seems ridiculous to me. My sister has had three or four of the pricy ones over the years because the internal batteries kept dying after so many months. With that in mind I decided to opt for a something that was relatively cheap, compatible with existing Braun toothbrush heads, useful for travelling and didn't need to be constantly recharged. I've had this one for a few weeks now and I can honestly say it's worth every penny! Personally, I hated the concept of electric toothbrushes. I saw them as a waste of money and a prime example of sloth and indulgence in today's society. But after using this one, I can see exactly why they've become so popular. My teeth are whiter than ever, my gums are healthier than ever and I can get to the molars right to the back of my mouth far more effectively now too. The brush itself has a nice weight to it, dismantles into a handy travel-size and the battery is still going after 3 weeks of use. I'll come back and update this when the batteries finally need changing, but from the looks of things, it's going to be a while! Good Points - Better results than a manual brush. - Doesn't break the bank. - Easily portable. - Compatible with the other Braun heads. - Doesn't need to be plugged in overnight after every use. - Gets through airport security without any problems. - Compacts nicely for travel. - Don't need to carry around a charging cable whenever you go anywhere. - Healthier gums. - Healthier teeth. - Happier smiles! - Works fine with rechargeable batteries. - Comes with batteries. - Feels pretty damn powerful. - Available in any colour, as long as it's blue. Not-so-good points - Might be a bit too heavy for people used to lighter brushes, the infirm or general weaklings. - Comes with single-use batteries that have to be thrown away/recycled after use. - When brushing teeth at the back of my mouth it feels as though the neck could do with being a couple of cm longer. Overall, out of all the stuff I've bought over the years, this toothbrush is by far one of the best investments I've made. Easy to use, I can take it travelling without any worries and my teeth are absolutely gleaming compared to my manual years. I just wish I bothered getting one sooner!

Excellent Toothbrush - A Must-Have for Healthy Teeth!
I recently purchased the Oral-B Pro-Expert Electric Toothbrush as a gift for my partner, and we are both extremely satisfied with its performance. This toothbrush is an upgrade from our manual brushes, and it has truly transformed our oral care routine. Here’s a detailed review based on my experience. First off, the cleaning power is impressive. The toothbrush features a powerful motor that delivers consistent brushing with multiple modes, including a sensitive mode, which is perfect for anyone with sensitive gums. The brush head provides excellent coverage, ensuring that each tooth is thoroughly cleaned. After using it for a few weeks, I noticed a significant improvement in the cleanliness of my teeth and gums, as well as a reduction in plaque buildup. It also helps reach areas that are often difficult to clean with a manual toothbrush, like the back molars. Another great feature is the timer that helps ensure you're brushing for the recommended two minutes. The built-in pressure sensor is also a bonus, alerting you when you're brushing too hard, which is essential for preventing gum recession or enamel damage. The battery life is also fantastic; it lasts a full week or more on a single charge, which makes it very convenient for travel or daily use without needing to recharge constantly. Additionally, the sleek, ergonomic design of the handle makes it comfortable to hold and easy to maneuver, even in hard-to-reach spots. The toothbrush comes with a variety of brush heads that cater to different needs, such as whitening, gum care, and plaque control. This versatility is ideal for customizing your brushing experience based on your oral health needs. I also love that the brush heads are easy to replace and snap on securely. Overall, the Oral-B Pro-Expert Electric Toothbrush is an outstanding product that delivers on its promises. Whether you're looking to improve your oral hygiene routine or seeking a thoughtful gift for someone special (perfect for Mother's Day or Father's Day!), this toothbrush is an excellent choice. It provides professional-level cleaning at home, and I can’t imagine going back to a manual toothbrush after experiencing the difference. Highly recommend!

It’s ok
Hi. The brush I received was all white not the blue & white shown. It works well and if used properly makes a decent job of cleaning your teeth. I find the standard brush head adequate ,if a little hard , so I bought the softer version which is marginally easier on the gums. Only three stars?…I find it noisey and I don’t get great battery life. Two minutes is the recommended clean time for brushing your teeth but I take around three and although battery life is better at two I prefer a more thorough job. The toothbrush will keep working as the batteries fade but is it actually cleaning your teeth? I doubt it. I’ve found cheap batteries a waste of money in this machine. Anyway…it’s a good brush that does clean your teeth despite the battery and noise thing but it has taken quite a jump in price since I bought mine and I have since found a better brush at around the same current price. Hope this helps

Excellent purchase
Excellent toothbrush. I’ve used manual toothbrushes for years but wanted to try an electric one again. Batteries are included so no need to charge up (the reason I used manual toothbrushes…hated having to charge up and wait). The brush head provided is an excellent size. I’m able to clean every surface (flossing once a day as well). With manual toothbrushes, it’s all about technique but an electric toothbrush basically does the work for you. Excellent purchase, thank you.
