Really impressive cream that you want to use again and again.
I have literally just used this Gentleman's Face Care Club (GFCC) shaving cream for the first time this morning, and I have to say I am really impressed with it. First off the item arrived on the specified day and was well packed. The tub that the product is contained in looks good with the lion head emblem on the lid along with the GFCC name. All the ingredients that go to make up the cream are clearly stated on the back. Upon unscrewing the lid you are greeted with a pleasant smell - not overpowering, but a nice fresh, clean scent. Colour wise the cream is almost a pearlescent off white/cream colour. You get a generous amount in the tub and as I found out you only really need the smallest amount on your shaving brush, so it will last a good while. So to the shaving experience. First off - after completing all the preliminaries - I just touched the bristle tips on to the cream; it went on really easy and looked very rich. The lather that this cream supplies is a nice close knit lather, and by that I mean that the lather is not full of bubbles like you sometimes get with really cheaply made shaving products. It goes on really well and doesn't take a lot of effort to whip up a nice rich thick lather. It also stayed useable for a good while without drying out too quickly. For this shave I used a double edge razor. What I noticed right away was how smooth the razor was; I usually get the odd spotting of blood when using this type of razor, but after completing my shave there wasn't one area that spotted. Rinsing off the cream was a doddle and it came off quickly...none of this stubborn attempt to stay on your face after umpteen washes. Overall I was really impressed - as I said at the start of this review; this is one of those products you actually look forward to using again when it comes to shaving. Please note that I received this item at a discount in return for my honest and unbiased review. This had no bearing on my thoughts.

Best shaving cream ever.....
As a follically challenged chap who's been shaving his head for the last 19 years, I've tried many different shaving products. The tinned gel/foam products are just too 'thin', so I've stuck with proper shaving creams which provide a rich lather and comfortable shave. Unfortunately, most of them leave me with my skin feeling dry and looking visibly wrinkly. For a while, I've been using the stuff from the a certain high street retailer whose name sounds a bit like a vehicle panel repairer. It was decent enough stuff, but then they closed my local store.... I happened across this product while looking for some stuff for my good lady and decided to give it a try. On the face of it, the price might seem a little steep, however it offers great value for money. The cream is very thick, so only a little is needed. It lathers superbly and provides copious quantities of creamy foam. You really need a decent shaving brush to do it justice though. The shave it gives is very close and comfortable, without a hint of dryness or irritation afterwards, even after having to use a straight razor when I've left it too long between shaves for a twin blade. The scent is very pleasant with a hint of coconut, which you might think could be a little girly, but it's actually surprisingly masculine! There's no doubt your Significant Other will love both the fragrance and smooth shave it gives. You may have to hide the tub from her though, as I have a feeling she might see it as a good option for her legs.....

Great, affordable entry level shaving cream for the budding gentleman.
This is my first foray into using a proper shaving cream and I'm not disappointed! There appears to be more than enough to last a long while, especially for someone like myself who only needs to shave once every few days. Each shave only requires a very small amount of the cream if you use a shaving brush. Dabbing the brush into the cream firmly gives me enough lather to do 2 or 3 passes. I haven't tried using the product without a brush so I can't comment on how well it lathers using fingers. I can't quite put my finger on the scent but I personally find it very pleasant; the best way I can describe it is "creamy", almost like vanilla in a way. I would still recommend that you use some form of moisturiser after shaving using this, although I get the impression that this is much better for my skin than run-of-the-mill shaving products. My only criticism of this product is that the lather seems a little "thin", in the sense that it's nowhere near as dense as shaving foam for example. However, I have no idea whether or not this is how it should be, or whether there's something wrong in my technique for lathering. For those diving into shaving with proper cream for the first time like I did, here is my recommended routine. First, fill a (bog standard) cup with hot water and leave the brush in there for 10 minutes or so while you do something else (e.g. shower). Next take the brush out and give it a shake to get rid of most of the water, and empty out the cup (leaving a few drops of water to help with the lathering). Dab the brush into the shaving cream just hard enough to cover the tips of the brush. Now you can use the cup to work it into a lather to apply to your face, just run the brush in circles into the base of the cup. Splash your face with warm water then apply the cream by moving the brush in circles across your skin. All in all I like this product, not only is it effective and plentiful, but it smells nice and makes you feel like a gentleman and a scholar. If you're anything like me then I would buy a safety razor as well and turn shaving into a hobby! If you liked this review then I would much appreciate a thumbs up!

Is it any better than other shaving creams?
When I first acquired a pot of The Gentleman's Face Care Clubs Shaving Cream I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from it; after all there are so many options these days for the man that requires that smooth look and feel. They say that first impressions count; which in my case got the first thumbs up with a rather nice looking pot that the cream came in. A sort of clean manly looking pot that you would expect to see in an upmarket gents barbers. Upon opening the pot I found a bright white cream, rather solid, not runny and neither hard which gave off a rather faint but pleasant fragrance. Time to check it out I thought! Using my new shaving brush (also acquired from The Gentleman's Face Care Club) I ran it under the warm water as you do before dipping it into my new cream and swishing it into the pot lid that I had just taken off the shaving cream. Quite useful I thought as I had forgotten my shaving cup. After doing that a couple of times and adding a little more warm water to my shaving brush as I went along found no problem in lathering up the cream at all. As I applied it to my face I found that it covered really well; and better in fact than many creams that I have used previously and that had cost substantially more. As I reached for my razor with its newly fitted blade and swilled it under the warm tap I started to have what I noticed to be one of the closest shaves that I had had in an awful long time. Gliding from one part of my face to another like an Olympic Ice Skater (gold medal winner at that) I soon finished my chore (not cuts today). I dabbed my towel onto my face, splashed a little aftershave over it and was ready for what the day had in store for me. The question was - Is it any better than other shaving creams? The answer is almost certainly YES! Is it worth the money? YES! (not a bad price to be honest). At the time of writing this review I have used the cream to shave at least a dozen times and have only grown to like it even more than when I used it for the first time! To me it sounds a good club to join "The Gentleman's Face Care Club!" gets a BIG YES!

The Holy Grail Of Shaving Creams Discovered
I rarely write reviews for products unless I'm absolutely blown away by it. Let me tell you this stuff is amazing. I converted to DE shaving in 2010 and with the exception of one horrendous shave with a Gillette Fusion a couple of years ago I have been a passionate advocate of traditional shaving methods. I have in the past seven years tried the following products, TOBS, Trumpers, Kiehls, Jack Blacks, Truefitt and Hill, Proraso Red and Green, Body Shop to name but a few. I genuinely believe in Gentleman's Face Care Club I have found the holy grail of shaving creams. To prove its worth I conducted a scientific experiment using the following items. Merkur 36C DE razor New Astra Superior Platinum Blade (1 for each shave) Edwin Jagger Badger Brush Silver mixing bowl (purchased from EBay) One ugly faced two day old unshaved face (mine). Allum block Lucky Tiger After Shave Face Tonic I made sure that my face was well washed and exfoliated each time I started to shave, as all DE shavers will know preparation is key. I soaked by badger brush in hot tap water and placed a little amount of the cream in my silver bowl. Once I was ready I whipped the cream up in the bowl to a luxurious thick lather. I then applied it to my face in circular motions and noted that the cream was thick and covered my face very well. I live in the lake district so our water is soft and I believe the best in the world. I don’t have to descale my kettle ever. I performed a downward shave and rinsed my face. Then I performed a second up pass and covered my face in cold water before applying my alum block. Allowing this to dry slightly I then performed a full rinse of my face with cold water. Patted my face dry and applied Lucky Tiger. The first thing I noticed was the smooth way the blade passed my face and dealt with the stubble. There were no nicks or pulls or cuts. When I applied the alum block to my face there wasn’t the usual sting that I’m so used to. My face remained smooth and lovely for the remainder of the day and most of the next. Could this be the stuff of legends that I had been seeking? I performed the exact same shave with another product two days later, and the results were not as good. The alum block made my face scream and I had a number of cuts. Not bad technique I hasten to add. So two days later I did the same shave using Gentleman’s. Wow it was as day one. This product is wonderful. I am converted to its use and my wife even commented that my skin felt softer than before and looked better. She has been the tester of my skin for many years, and I trust her opinion over everyone else. This product gets my full five stars and is worth every one of them. Of course other shavers, blades and brushes are available so this review is purely for the cream. A wise man once told me that shaving is like cooking, you need to find the correct recipe for you and use the best ingredients…

Fantastic Product (actually does what it says)
I have struggled for a long time getting a product that actually does mean (great for sensitive and dry skin) and helps your skin. I haven’t been paid for this review... I have finally found a product that works for me and I noticed this the first time I used the product. I can’t recommend this product more highly. It’s fantastic. The only reason I haven’t given this great product 5 Stars is for the following two reasons. Firstly I don’t believe the content volume was correct, it was only just over the halfway mark. Secondly the shelf life of the product is short. Now I still would recommend this product as there can be various factors that could excuse the noted points. To balance the points out above, you won’t need a lot of this product for a shave, literally a few pea size amounts is enough...

Amazing Product!!
I've just had the best shave of my life! I bought this on the already 5 star recommendations, and the wonderful price swayed it for me. It arrived as described and also my new badger hair shaving brush ( From the Irish Beard company here on Amazon if you're interested - a great combination) The cream has a lovely scent; very "clean" and almost medicinal (in a nice way). There's certainly no strong odour of chemicals or nasties. The consistency is quite firm but not solid. It just looks good in the pot, with a feint pink tinge. On the day on my order I received a personal email from customer support agent Jenny at the Gentleman's Face Care Club, thanking me for my purchase and also outlining some top tips for using the product. That was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated. Anyway onto the usage. I loaded the brush with a tiny amount - just enough to tip the bristles; and although directed to lather in the pot lid or additional shaving mug, I went about it directly on my face. Within I'd say 5 seconds I was fully lathered up, I mean totally. At this rate, I am going to get months and months out of this product. Better still I know than when it does get to the bottom, this is back on order! Shaving was a breeze, the razor gliding effortlessly over my 2 days growth, resulting in no nicks or tugs, and more importantly no hairs. I actually feel like I've been to a barbers or salon for my shave. Thank you again Gentlemans Face Care Club on an excellent product, my aerosol foams and swanky gels have been demoted to the bin.

Slightly disappointing.
Background:- I had a full beard for decades as it is only recently I discovered that products good enough to shave pain-free were available. Method:- As always, I wet shave in the shower using a very good foil electric razor. Rationale:- My usual cream (Taylor's of Old Bond Street -sensitive) is superb but not always the easiest to buy at a reasonable price and it is against Taylor's that I am comparing this product. The reason for giving four stars is:- 1. It lathers almost as well 2. it provides slightly less lubrication 3. the fragrance although mild to most seems strong to me as someone like me with sensitive skin who is used to unscented products 4. at the sale price (half price) it is a good buy but had it been full price, I would have given it three stars It's an okay cream which doesn't irritate my skin and does the job but would only buy it again at this sale price-point because compared to what else is available at twice the price, it's usual price, it is not as good as the product I am comparing it against. Post shave I notice that unlike with my usual cream, difficult areas are often red and tender. I suspect this is because it doesn't lubricate as well.
