The item arrived early, so I had it out of the box and under the TV in no time. The first problem was no hdmi cable, so used the included 3.5 mm lead to connect to the TV headphone jack. Set up was simple, and the sound far superior to that of my TV. Once I got a hdmi cable (make sure that the lead is at least hdmi version1.4 or higher) and connected it to my TV, the arc function allowed me to use the TV remote for all basic functions on the sound base. I don't use the eq as the TV setting is fine for me. The sound now is so much better, I hardly turn the volume higher than 8! Overall, great value for the price.

Guys there are two different types of this sound system. The one which features optical in and the one which supports HDMI ARC.Before you order check your tele what type supports! My new tele supports ARC and the sound is awesome much better than optical in. Furthermore ARC has great features and suports DTS, DolbyD when optical in doesn't. Check on the Web for more info. It worked straight away without issues. Although the equaliser can't be edited, there are fixed set options as music,movie,tv and do the job well. Subwoofer performs great without overpowering. Thank you for this awesome product.

For the price paid this soundbase is excellent. Set it up under a Samsung TV that had pretty mediocre sound (don't they all these days) and has improved the acoustics substantially. I would rate the sound quality as fair in that it does a great job with mids (voice clarity and dialogue is excellent) however lacks some dynamism and punch when it comes to base and more action oriented sound. That said, it's far and above better than the rather basic sound offered by TVs these days. Set up was very easy using HDMI ARC and other than setting the desired EQ setting on the box, I just use the TV remote now. ARC switches the box on and off with the TV too which is handy. Great buy for the price.

Bought it as a gift for my Father and it's really disappointing - the sound quality is shocking, plus, it's huge! I imagine there are others on here for the same price which are much better. Everyone loves the look of an impressive markdown on the retail price but I don't believe this is worth what I paid. Otone as a company went into voluntary liquidation in August 2017.

A superb piece of kit, never heard of Otone before so I was taking a chance, glad I did. The clarity of sound is brilliant, have connected via hdmi. The build quality is also very good. I previously had a well known brand soundbar which was more than double the price,(which incidentally stopped working after a couple of years) and I have to say this is as good, if not better. Overall, well worth it especially at the price paid. Would highly recommend.

The sound was no better than the standard TV speaker which is awful, and sounds like it is coming out of a tin can. The base was non-existent, even after trying numerous methods suggested by supplier, including expensive adaptor leads. The remote is cheap and nasty. Very disappointed and I had to pay for return delivery (£16.40) for the pleasure of finding this out.

Base is not great. Remote is cheap and nasty. Need Arc on tv to use tv remote. Display is poor. I paid under £70 for it. Any more would be too expensive! Only just better then the tv sound. The only real good point is it fits nicely under the tv and looks nice, otherwise, I would have sent back.

Solid piece of kit, looks great under my 46" Samsung. Took about 30 mins to set up and as I had one of last 'none Smart' tvs it only had 2 HDMI inputs but whilst tv had optic input, the Otone unit does not. Howeveŕ I got around this with the additional purchase of an HDMI splitter from Betron. Once over this initial frustration fitting the soundbar was turned on and...wow! With built in sub it has transformed our bluray movie experience and our xbox gameplay. Fabulous bass and sound quality...i would have been happy paying full price...but just under £40? What. A. Bargain.
