At most ive done it for a week and then given up, i get good slim results after a bout of food poisoning and thats about it! Daily routine is up at 7, school run with the kids, work, kids, by about 8pm mon-sat. i dont have the motivation to do a huge workout and so i got into this chunky bermuda triangle that i cant seem to get out of. Just want to fit into my old clothes better and generally not damage the foundations of my house when i run up the stairs, when I walk into the room the chairs cry. I know that exercising in the long run will make me feel better mentally and physically, but probably the reason why you are turning to an exercise dvd set is for a similar reason to me and so I am going to give my view on it so you can either get hyped to purchase, or decide that this is not for you. I borrowed the insanity workout and whilst that is good i found it a bit boring like going on treadmill and crosstrainer and rowing machine all in one go, lots of jogging and lunging etc, planks, stretching and jumping etc. This is great for some, but as a bloke who gets out of breath trying to find his keys in the morning I found it really intense. Because of how intense it starts out it put me off wanting to do it again the next day and i'd just go back to weights again. The instructor also is too energetic for 6am and 8pm. But on a more serious note, the workouts with insanity (am using insanity as an example here as this is a more well known comparison) are more for people who enjoy exercise and like a sort of high energy gym class workout. I don't like running or that feeling of exercising so hard I want to actually be sick, some like insanity and when i am fitter I probably would like to give it a go but it's just not for me. Was that the only real option out there to get results though? I had a look on desertcart and came across this dvd set. Weights give you this PUMP feeling and working with resistance can get faster and more impressive results, ive known this for years but again its just motivation that is my problem and sticking with it. When you notice the benefits sooner your eating habits and even your determination to do these workouts get better and go hand in hand. Think of your result as one peddle and your workout as the other pedal, once you workout your results will follow and because of these results then the next workout will follow and so on. So it makes sense to me to train with resistance, because I want to see and feel results sooner so i can then be motivated to do another workout. Ive done weeks of going jogging etc to see little results, yeah the jeans fit better but my nipples still pointed to the ground. I've even worked through vicky pattersons dvd and about a month of that helped me realise that 10 min workouts each day were a good test of fitness and stamina, they werent giving me results that suited my body type and personality. I did a month of this and people said "oh you look well", which is basically saying you are looking plumper than usual. This dvd set cost me ยฃ19.99 and I got it about a year ago! I got it thinking it was on sale but it's always this price! So if you see it less than ยฃ19.99 go for it but ยฃ19.99 is a real bargain. Inside you get a nutrition booklet that I have yet to do shopping for (I am on week 2 of this workout so far) I am eating generally well some days but then the others i get an odd eating binge, sunday roast, but gradually I am finding that I don't want to have mcdonalds etc, because I got a workout to do and just feeling bloated and farty during a workout is no fun. When you drink water through the workout also you end up feeling full anyway so it helps you make better diet choices without following the nutrition guide, but if its proper fat shredding you are looking for - follow the nutrition guide seriously. If you are finding it hard to not eat foods your own way for your own comfort (like me) try at least to make better choices such as eating better in the morning and eating less at night, no sugary drinks at all. You will see nice results with just slightly improving your diet. And thats the good thing is that you can do this workout without the nutrition guide, and then perhaps in another 90 days follow the guide to a T when you feel more beast like. There is a poster with a grid of your workout dvds that you need to be doing on that day and a training guide which is a good read but really you just need to be banging those workouts out each day. Even arnold schwarzenegger will tell you 20 mins of exercise each day will help you stay fitter and healthier. If you live a sedentary life like me (driving to work, work isn't very physical, munching on food thats supposed to be for the kids and then once you sit on the couch you do not move from that couch, you fall asleep on the couch then when you get to bed you are wide awake! then tired in the morning, skip breakfast etc...) you will hit a wall in the first DVD and you will be absolutely done for. Once you realise how weak you actually are the next day you will just want to eat and not do very much, so make sure you eat plenty of protein rich and lean proteins (not beefburgers!!) go for tuna, chicken stuff like that. Cheese is protein, but more fat than protein. The aim is to eat to recover and give you fuel to do the workout then lined up for the next day. What you need is a small set of dumbells (5kg, 10kg, 15kg if you are strong but seriously 5kg will be FINE for the first month!!) you don't NEED these but they really help you push yourself and you WILL see better and FEEL better results. Just follow exactly what they say on the DVD!! a pullup bar for the doorframe is good, Im lucky I have a home gym with crossover. I tried pullups but am just too heavy to do more than 2 sets. After 2 sets I just look like that shark in jaws that they hung up on display, just lifeless and hanging there... As an alternative, look for dumbbell workouts that work the same muscles as pullups just google "can you do a pullup with dumbbels" This will let you do the range of exercises with just dumbbells and if you are looking to get in shape you should really invest in a set anyway. The less hassle you have setting up equipment and stuff like that the more you will want to do these workouts so don't be put off from having to use weights. OF COURSE you can do these without weights!! But I don't recommend it, resistance = results ok? Muscle burns the fat around them, you aren't going to get huge and olympic doing weights like this, weights can often put people off but by working out with weights you engage your muscle more efficiently, thus burning off fat more efficiently and you require LESS TIME TO WORKOUT with resistance so it makes sense completely. There are moments in the dvds that I don't use weights at all, im absolutely knackered and barely managing my own body weight but the weights get you there in the end even if you do the weight for the first set. Ok lets get on to the first DVD (i'll only do a summary of the first two dvds for you, ive blabbed on enough already!) The first dvd is called minute by minute, its the first AND last dvd you do for this 90 day plan. at first Minute by Minute sounds easy! and like its the first dvd, of course it's going to be easy going minute by minute. Minute by Minute however is minute by minute of muscle trembling terror, the first DVD is extremely difficult for a beginner but I wasn't so out of breath that I wanted to be sick, i had a good sweat on but I was struggling with doing these squats with just my own body weight by the end and my pressups I was doing them on my knees. You do pullups, pressups, squats. for like 25 mins straight with only a little rest in between. I couldn't walk much the next day, but I hadn't trained for about 6 months so this was a real eye opener. The instructor Jody has two others with him and they train alongside him but at different levels so you can see them workout and also struggle so it feels non-threatening and also one works with weight, another works without so you can watch whomever is on your level. Jody is really welcoming in each DVD and gets right to the point and gets you to feel really motivated without using silly catchphrases or talking too much. It's just the right amount of motivation you need. I feel the artwork on the dvd set doesn't represent what is on the dvd, the dvd isn't all black and white posing etc, its like workout out in a gym. the dvd has options like seperate audio options to mix up repeat viewings. The second dvd then is the chest one and its literally pressups, wide pressups, close pressups, flyes, and those pressups where you turn sideways and reach your arm to the ceiling. this is why I mentioned get dumbells, i even got just dumbbell hand grips (just to get a deeper pressup) and i use these instead of dumbell for the one where you raise your arm sideways just to get through it. You can do these workouts without weights and stretch instead but you won't feel the burn benefits and muscle pump that you need to really engage them to start that whole chemical process that goes on where your muscles etc start burning fat and needing protein to repair (which gives you that awesome body shape you are looking for). You are looking to look better, not just looks like a vacuum packed version of yourself after all. My chest ached a lot but I have better chest recovery than leg recovery, but the way these dvds play out and how motivating Jody Hendrix is you really feel like you are part of a team working through the workout. If you are really weak and looking for a beginner workout, don't bother with other dvds, seriously get this. It's just what you need to get you out of that chunky bermuda triangle, just follow what Jody recommends even if you are struggling they guide you through it all and you can go at your own pace but BECAUSE of the resistance involved there is such a high bar to achieve you will be amazed at the results. After about 2 weeks you will feel tighter, stronger, its in the 3 months later (90 days) that you will see those dramatic results providing you eat for fuel and not for comfort. Expect about 6 months dramatic results with a diet that is relaxed. but each week so far just the feeling of muscles repairing and feeling tighter and im more aware they are there just gives you this incentive to keep powering on. It is a superb dvd set and a workout routine that makes sense, no gimmicks or catchphrases etc, just working out with added resistance WILL make you have better results. My only bad comment on is is the way the dvds are stored in a card wallet, they tend to ware more by taking them in and out of the card wallet than if it was made from a soft material. If you are female (or male and have not used weights before) you will find this tough with weights but the range of motion and exercises are not just for men, ladies workouts tend to work more on legs and stretching since ladies like to feel confident more in these areas, male workouts tend to be more about upper body as they like to show off those areas so ladies will feel the added bonus of getting rid of "bingo wing" fat faster and having a more varied workout other than in other traditional workout dvds that will push them out of their comfort zones but in a good way just like I am. Highly recommended Review: great work out minus the hype - Good work outs. Need some dumbbells or a resistance band to get through the programme. The presentation is not patronising and easy to follow. Week 3 is sstarting to hurt

And your friendly physiotherapist says...
An absolutely brilliant workout routine for the price - a complete game changer!!! My only minor criticism is that the first workout will KILL YOU... unless you have just left the marines!... And, as if that wasn't bad enough, there's no cool down or advice to go and have a light five minute jog/ walk, to get your heart rate down from where its not been before! Another minor criticism is that all the warm ups are all the same when a bit of variety would have been nice although, as I said earlier, for the price it is an EXCELLENT workout set which will give you great results if you stick with it! I have just purchased a weights set although had been managing fairly well with an exercise mat, couple of resistance bands and a pull up bar which you could buy easily for less than ยฃ50. Most of the workouts are between 20 and 30 minutes (they may be down as 40 minutes but there are some unnecessary stretches in the warm up on the longer ones) and you can always bolt the 15 minute 'Abs workout' on the end if you have the time. The best ยฃ20 I have possibly ever spent!!!

Good for beginners but boring as hell
I have insanity and asylum 1&2. So I've been spoiled with them. I wanted an alternative with shorter workouts so got this. Although the price is great the workouts are dull, the trainer is dull. Making it hard to get motivated. The workouts will work if you stick with it but so will any exercise. This is not as intense as insanity so is better suited for someone taking up exercise, if you can get past the monotony.

Great workouts and they work !!!!
RIPT90 - I haven't exercised for years and i'm the wrong side of 40 !!! I'm not fat or unhealthy but certainly not in shape. I need to get some exercise but can find time to spend in the gym (plus its expensive) so i looked for alternatives. T24 was recommended to me but as I have never used these exercises before i thought the cost was quite high if I hated it, but as luck would have it I found RIPT90 at a price of ยฃ19.99 !!! I'm 3 weeks into the program and I have nothing but positives to say about this product. The exercises are good, tiring and hard if like me you haven't exercised for years. I achieve a good sweat by the end of each session and feel as if I have had a true workout, albeit for about 25 minutes. AFter the first week my arms and legs were knackered, haha, but this soon passed and my conditioning improved. I have lost weight and muscles have firmed up considerably and i am only at the conditioning stage (strength and RIPT stages yet to come). I can now do considerably more push ups, squats and sit ups than I ever have done before. You will need dumbells (or resistance band), one of those pull up bars that use the door frame as support and an exercise mat - That's it !!! The presentation by Jody Hendrix is good, no adverts trying to sell you the ultimate 'shake drink'. He explains the benefits of each exercise and his demonstrations are excellent. What can I say, eat heathily, cut down on the booze and use this program. It works and I highly recomend this product.... Only 2 months and 1 week to go......

Poor quality DVD! Watch out guys.
DVD quality is poor, my DVD/BD player which plays every disc I own (which is a lot) could not play this.

Lacks character and motivation
If you've put up with the bad jokes of Tony Horton in any of his P90 workouts or the endless enthusiasm of Shaun T with Insanity and Focus T25 then...well...don't expect the same. Jody Hendrix is a rather lifeless character and the DVDs definitely don't have that glossy feel to them that the professional Beachbody ones do. Even though with a name like Jody Hendrix I was expecting bandanas, crazy guitar riffs and perhaps some Mr Motivator type shouts. Nope. The workouts themselves are ok though after you've done a few, you'll realise you don't need to use the DVD again. "Oh...so I do push ups and thens curls...and then push ups and curls". At least with other workouts there is an upbeat tempo to keep you going and push you through to the end but that's not the case with this. It's dull. That doesn't necessarily mean it's not for you though. I think, if you're looking to discover some new workouts or perhaps you really don't like the eagerness of some of the other DVDs then this is good in that respect - you can learn some new moves to incorporate into your workout. One last thing - don't buy from another buyer for ยฃ107 or something ridiculous (this is what I saw it as when I came to review it) - I bought it for ยฃ24.98 so if you are interested make sure you keep an eye on it and just keep checking back in a couple of days. I did that - one day it was about ยฃ90 and the next day it was being sold by Amazon for ยฃ25. Definitely do not pay over ยฃ100 for it!!

Just buy it!
Can't believe what great value this is. Unlike a lot of reviews I will talk about the product before I bore you talking about myself and how fit I am. 14 workouts most around the 20-25 min HIIT training idea. All have pretty much same 5 min warmup. You even get a diet plan book. The only thing negative is no cooldowns... You finish each workout and that's it...But you do get a stretch exercise DVD that could be done. If you are considering not getting this because it seems very cheap just buy it you won't be disappointed. However if you are not fit you will hurt a lot for the first week or 2. Now to talk about me... Time to stop and read another review.... I have done P90x and Insanity and love the workouts. Was just not excited having been through both a number of times and I know all of the words to the dvds. Bought this for a change and love the fact I can be done in 20 mins most workouts and I am absolutely thrashed. Simple basic workouts. You are warned to modify to suit you and you should especially as the first workout includes a lot of squats and makes stairs difficult for a few days!!! I just love this programme. 2 weeks in and have loved every minute!

Intense workouts....check the details
I have only done two of the workouts. Minute by Minute and Chest Shredder. Minute by Minute is listed as 39 minutes on the back of the box it comes in. It is actually 20 minutes with a 5 minute warm-up. It was a good sweat and challenge. The problem was that I had allocated 39 minutes for the workout so I got up extra early and the workout was short. Not the end of the world but I would appreciate accuracy. The Chest workout was solid. If you increase the weight it will help make it more intense. Jody does a nice job. This is a no thrills get down to business workout. I like them. Just need to clean up some of the details. At the end of the Chest dvd mine kind of skips or has some kind of glitch. I hope the others work. I hope this company continues to make these workouts. I do these in the mornings with my wife and I like the condensed times. These will make you sweat. Update: 5/26/15 - these workouts rock. Short, to the point. Many are like home crossfit WOD's and you are in and out in just 25 minutes. Honestly, I have done many programs and I am a home fitness junkie. This set is awesome and I highly recommend it. Update: 6/2/15 - the schedule is just like crossfit with 3 days on and 1 day off. You stay this way until the last 30 days and it is 4 days on and one day off. These really are good, tough workouts. If you give Jodi a chance, you will enjoy his workouts. This is for those that really want to get a solid, hard workout in a short period of time. This program is awesome and it ties Body Beast as my favorite of them all......Great job creating this system!

Basic but Effective
This is an exercise program that really has worked for me. Even though it is in the new vein of metabolic/resistance shorter workout times, It is pretty old-school as far as the exercises themselves. They say the best exercise is a squat - well get ready because you will be doing plenty of squats (usually 45 in the warmups alone). Each workout generally targets one area - unlike P90, (not P90X or X3) which was a general workout from head to toe. There is not a lot of variety in this these workouts - a few moves and then you repeat the cycle 3 or 5 times. While there may be a lack of variety, there is no lack of results. You will build muscle with this workout while keeping your heart rate up as well so that you can burn calories. Depending on the workout I usually burn 270 - 370 calories per workout. (I am 54) There is not a well lit ornate set filled with equipment, just 3 people and dumbells or a pull up bar. There are no rapid camera cuts between the people doing the workout. Jody (Leader of the workout) seems like a regular guy and is not walking around cracking jokes, but is encouraging the other two people working out. For an in-depth review, search for "2 lazy 4 the gym ript90" There is a review that describes each workout in detail. Even though the workouts are basic and repetitive (Which gets results), there are quite a few workouts and the price really can not be beat. I am really glad I bought this product. I am halfway through and have lost 8 pounds and have improved my muscle tone.

I didn't want to invest in P90X just in case I disliked that exercise format
I am a middle-aged male and former college athlete who started RIPT90 in August of 2016. My goal at the time was to shed some extra weight, reduce my waistline, and tone up. Since I never worked out in front of a television, I didn't want to invest in P90X just in case I disliked that exercise format. The reviews for RIPT90 were decent, and the price was very reasonable--so why not? As with any exercise program, you will only achieve results if you are disciplined and stay consistent. I found that exercising in front of my T.V. wasn't that bad. Although I chose not to integrate the diet menu, I achieved each of my goals, and then some. In fact, I still am doing this program almost a year later, multiple nights each week. Even my 17-year-old son (who is painfully honest) has been impressed! Does RIPT90 work? With a determined attitude to stick with it, a couple of dumb bells and/or resistance bands, this program will certainly improve your cardio and physique. If you are incredibly out of shape or obese, then following a doctor's designed workout is the first step before considering these type of workouts. RIPT90 will challenge the majority of people except Iron Man/ Women athletes. If your physical health is at that level then you're probably not looking at this program anyway. RIPT90 is an affordable, metabolic, cardio, and strength conditioning program. There are no complex exercise movements and the workout routine is easy to follow. What I don't like about RIPT90 centers around Jody's use of the word "Buddy." He will always include two training partners in each of his videos, and even introduce them by their names, but once the workout begins, Jody seems to forget their name. This didn't bother me as much during the first 30-60 days, but from then on, and especially almost a year later I find myself yelling at my television set, "THEIR NAME ISN'T BUDDY!" If Jody would consider making another series (even the same one) without saying "Buddy," I would buy it! If not, then after my current disc set wears out, I will look for another program. I might do that anyway-it's that bad. RIPT90 is a solid investment, which can get you back into shape and hopefully will start you on a long term commitment to exercise.

Did all 90 days. Now in the best shape I've been in. I'm going back for another 90 days to maintain and improve.
I finished. I'm 48 and did all 90 days. No, I do not look like the trainer (Jody) but I do look very fit so I'm happy with the results. As Jody mentions in the videos, diet has as much to do with it as exercise. Other reviews mentioned that Jody is a likable trainer, and not an "in your face bro" kind of guy. I totally agree. There's a bit of humor thrown in that helps to keep things fun. The workouts themselves are very challenging, even after all 90 days. Another thing often mentioned by Jody is your responsibility to scale the exercises. There is always one of his trainees in the video doing an alternate scaled version of the exercise to help guide you. I found that a few of the activities were a little too high impact or too difficult for me so I scaled them down (for example using pull-down bands rather than doing pull ups). By the end, there were even a few exercises that I was able to scale up for a little extra challenge. For the most part, I was still challenged all the way through doing the routines as is. The only modification I might suggest to the program itself is that the arm workout isn't used enough. I took a few weeks off and now I'm restarting. This time I'm going to fit the arm workout into a few extra days. It's nice to see a variety of trainees used in the videos ranging from a college kid, to a mom, to a bulky business man, to an older guy (like me). It's not a bunch of super pumped body builders - just regular fit people. Don't let the workout titles scare you, they are just creative marketing. You will be sore at times but you will feel and look strong if you keep with it and eat well. Don't expect to jump right in and do a routine strict from start to finish. Do what you can and you'll notice the gains quickly. While you are waiting for your DVDs to arrive, start doing some daily push ups and squats to get yourself ready!
