Not a bad tool for trimming iron on edge banding. The trick I learned is to use it one side at a time. If you try to trim both sides at once it snags and tears the edge banding and also requires more force, meaning if it goes wrong it can ruin your work. Can’t see the blades lasting too long but it got me through my project and I can always pick up more. Pity it didn’t come with a spare set.

Wasn't expecting too much from this small edgebanding trimmer, but worked very well.

At first I was impressed, easy to use just place it over the edge(s) to be trimmed and squeeze together then slide along the panel. It cut well to start with. It uses multiple blades to do the initial trim and then a bevel cut to finish. But it doesn't always work and I found a lot of edges needed softened with manual sanding. The blade life is poor though (and I couldn't find replacement parts). I used this on 50 panels, that were only being banded on one edge. Around panel 20 I noticed I was starting to get tear out as the blades dulled. By panel 30 I was using this "one sided" basically not squeezing it together and lightly using the one edge to trim but not all the way down, then finishing with hand sanding. I think it's a good idea, poorly executed and the fact that the blades are accessible and screwed in but you can't get replacements is nutty. It does take a little hand strength to adequately squeeze the tool together so be aware of that if you have poor grip strength.

Tried this as I usually just used the chisel edge method in the past. A little awkward to get used to but once I got the hang of it it was simple to use. Recommended.

I was surprised at just how easy and pain-free this was for trimming iron-on edge banding. Make sure you squeeze it tight enough then whoosh along the edge and you're done. Brilliant.

Accesorio muy necesario para cortar el pvc sobrante al cantear maderas de melamina. Una vez ya has colocado la tira de PVC en los cantos de una madera con la plancha, hay que cortar el sobrante. Aqui es donde interviene este útil accesorio. Si bien podría hacerse la labor con un cuter, el corte nunca será tan perfecto como utilizando esta bien diseñada herramienta que tiene dos filos de corte a ambos lados. La cortadora tiene una flecha que indica la dirección de corte (muy importante). Hay que pasarlo con decisión y firmeza. Mediante in muelle puedes ajustar la apertura entre 12 y 25 milimetros, si bien lo comun es utilizar madera de 16 milimetros y cintas de 22mm. Debe haber un sobrante de unos 3 milimetros a ambos lados para que corte bien. La cinta debe estar bien pegada (mediante el adhesivo que la engancha al aplicar calor) o sino el destrozo está asegurado. Hay que esperar a que la cinta esté FRÍA antes de recortar. Si te equivocas, puedes desenganchar la cinta aplicando calor de nuevo, sacarla y poner una nueva. Este accesorio solo recorta los lados, pero para las puntas vais a tener que comprar otro tipo de accesorio que también se vende en Amazon, o bien utilizar tijeras o cuter.
