Ok, let's get the bad stuff out of the way first, as good as Jimi was I find it very hard to find recordings of his work that come anywhere up to todays standards. Unfortunately thats down to the recordings being made in the 1960's. That said theses sound reasonably good and there are a lot of favourites here. Little Wing is a favourite of mine but at less than three minutes I feel robbed, again there isn't anything that can be done about that. So enough to say enjoy this album for what it is, some of Jimi's best tunes, great playing and great feel good vibes. I was still at school when Voodoo chile came out as a single, I remember gripping my pocket money in my mitt and running down to the local record shop to buy it after school, it still sounds as good as ever. Jimi's recording life was just four short years, if you like fantastic guitar then you need this album in your life.

Perfect intro to Hendrix, highlighting his range of approaches and skills and what an underrated vocalist he was as well as genius guitar player.. Still sounds fresh and innovative now.

Jimi Hendrix, what more is there to say.

I descovered Hendrix in my early 20's when i was at college, a friend of mine was a huge fan and lent me a tape (for younger folk, a tape wasca small plastic case thet ran a magnetic tape between two spools, pre CD) that featured some of his hits and lesser known tracks. I bought this collection on the afore mentioned tape and played it to death until the walkman (a small portable box that contained a motor and tape deck driven by two AA batteries) decided to chew it up and spit it back out. Back before the internet and ebay i could not get another copy so i ended up without this particular collection. Many years later i found it on CD and many a car journey was had until it was stolen from my car. So, another break was had until i saw that this album was available for dowmload and i was well chuffed! Instand download and i was listening to The Jimi Man in the comfort of my own bed seconds later. Great music from a great man, still sadly missed and still much loved.

Laut des Beschenkten ein tolle CD mit ebenso tollen Stücken. Hatte selbst vor Jahrzehnten mir dieses Produkt als Vinyl gekauft...ein Traum die Lieder...nur leider fehlt "Burning of the Midnight Lamp".
