Hosa PWA-486 NEMA 5-15R to NEMA 5-15P Right-Angle Power Adaptor

I got this for my level one car charger that I honestly dont use very often. But when I do use it this really helps because at my office the warehouse outlet is high off the floor (about 5 feet) and my charger is a direct in plug so it comes unplugged with the weight of the charger. The charger is not heavy but the odd angle causes issues. This device solved that problem easily.

If you think six bucks is too much to pay for a right angle adapter, think again. This is a very well made high quality commercial grade product. The first impression is that when you get it it’s not just tossed into a plastic bag but in a protective blister pack. It describes it as being appropriate for server racks and equipment enclosures so you know their intended application is for high end installations. The adapter itself weighs an impressive almost two ounces. A close look inside reveals full electric contacts not the simplistic designs common with most consumer power accessories these days. WHAT IT IS Reading some of the other comments it appears the intended application of this product may not be entirely clear. It is not a multitap, its sole job is to change the orientation of a grounded plug by 90 degrees, but it is not designated to be a wall hugger, in other words if you want to use it to reduce how far a cord extends out from the outlet because maybe you want to push furniture closer to the wall this really won’t help you. It sticks out 1.75 inches by itself and there is a reason for that, if it were much smaller it could not be used with some heavy duty commercial grounded plugs, defeating why some users would want or need it. Just simplify your thinking and tell yourself to understand what it does – it converts the orientation of a plug to a fixed right angle, that’s all. EVALUATION I tested this with a meter and measured no perceptible power loss. I wiggled both the adapter and a power plug looking for shorts or interruptions in voltage and there was none. That’s why it’s worth six bucks. For what it is intended to do this is the highest quality adapter of its type I have found.

I have plug molds (i.e. really long permanently installed power strips) throughout the house. Some of them are in confined spaces, so it would often help to turn the outlets on their sides. This would seem to be an easy problem to solve. After all, there are tons of 3rd party power cubes that have outlets on the sides. But it turns out, all of them are to the left/right, whereas I need front/back. This product is the *only* one that I found that has the correct orientation for me. I was initially put off by the price, as the product looked cheaply made in the product pictures. But when I received it, I was positively impressed. This is a very well-made and sturdy product. The price is still high, but I don't feel bad about my purchase. In fact, I bought several. And turns out, it works 100% perfectly for my application. I am extremely pleased to have found this very special-purpose little adapter.

A simple wall plug adapter to keep your appliance electrical cord flat against the wall. This simple item works well. It is for only one cord though and there are others with multiple connection points. This one is a little pricey in my opinion for what it is but priceless if you need one.

Needed this to make a light strand power adapter fit inside a weather proof box and it worked great.

I had an in floor power socket that caused plugs and cable to stick high and cause a safety issue. This was the perfect size and height to get out of the hole for cord to lay flat to the ground, greatly reducing trip hazard. It feels solid and for being the ideal solution it is a great value.

This 90 degree adapter plug (specifically NEMA 5-15R to NEMA 5-15P) is fantastic. If your power sockets are installed properly with the ground pin on the bottom, the adapter will allow you to connect a power cord from below so that the profile from the wall is not more than a couple inches. This is great if the socket is behind furniture that is close to the wall, and is also great when the power cord of whatever you connected is rather stiff/heavy as I believe this adapter reduces the stress on the socket connections. Please note that you can only install one of these for each wall socket as the top one will interfere with the bottom socket. If you want to connect something to both sockets you will need to install this adapter on the bottom socket. The maximum current that can flow through this adapter is 15 amps, however if you are planning on drawing the full load I would opt for a direct connection as I prefer to have the least number of connections/adapters/power strips/etc in between – but that is just my preference (for safety reasons).

家具や家電の後ろにあるコンセントにさす場合、電源ケーブルが当たらず、ぬけることもなく便利です
