Got this for my mum to fix her lamp. Very easy to fit and good quality.

Inexpensive and easy to fit
Cheap, easy to fit. Doesn’t seem high quality but it was only a few pounds. Has plastic overlay for safety. Not sure how long it will last but expect a few years.

External earth - beware
Received this today along with this item Back Plate Nipple Fitting 1/2" Threaded Brass Boss 25mm Dia. With Screws For Lamp Bulb Holders to make a lamp for a friend from a piece of cherry wood. Product is fine but unfortunately it has to be earthed via a screw on the OUTSIDE of the item (my fault for not studying the image properly). This will spoil the aesthetics of the end result. Am not sure why the earth could not have been inside the fitting. Am probably going back to using a plastic holder now, which won't need earthing, but won't look as nice.

Very good
This lampholder is well made. With safety in mind, it has double pole switching, as well as an earthing terminal. This as good as it gets. In addition, the price is modest and the quality is high Highly recommended

Poor workmanship
From the specs this was just what I needed, but the quality was not too good; the screw in the earth terminal was very stiff and the whole earth terminal broke off when I was turning the screw. So I ordered a second one (could not be bothered to return the first at this price). This had a good earth terminal but the ring holding the two parts of the fitting did not turn easily. However I managed to fit it all successfully to my table lamp and now I'm reasonably happy. Not sure how long it will last though because the switch appears to be weak.

Really good buy
This was a replacement for a standard light which broke when I knocked it over, when ordered it said it would take four to five days delivery,it arrived in two and product was spot on ,yes I would buy from this seller again excellent!!!!

This is the second one of these I have purchased. It is exactly as shown in the product picture. I have fitted it with no problems and my lamps are working fine. I'm very pleased with the bright shiny finish which suits my brass table lamps perfectly.
