All Catholic sacramentals including all scapulars, rosaries, st Benedict medals, miraculous medals,  ETC  that are NEW are meant NOT to be blessed when bought.  They are to be blessed afterwards by their new owners. They are to be worn devoutly &  are NOT to be  considered as   superstitious items to flaunt or display. They are not to be treated as talisman, charms or amulets!  Catholics are required to be educated & be made knowledgeable by their importance, their power & their role in the growth of one’s spiritual life;   by reading  the Catholic catechism,  inquiring & asking your spiritual confessors/directors  & other  reputable Catholic resources; so as not to be misled or misguided. These are powerful sacramentals that go beyond the sacred & give powerful graces when used devoutly with faith!

Is the purple scapular woven from wool or some other material? If not wool, then what material?

I am not sure if it is wool looks like felt to me. Too give protection for your house hang it so it can be seen from the front door.

Are these actually wool or are they wool felt?

I would guess that they have 2-3 layers of felt.  There was no information with them to indicate what the material was.

Does it come with any explanation of the devotion or the prayers that are supposed to be said?

Hi, it doesn’t come with any prayers. I suppose they can be worn; however, they are large. It is not a regular scapular worn around the neck. I don’t regret ordering it. I thought they would be stamp size. It would have been nice to have prayers to accompany it.
