How could I use this with a sand substrate in a shrimp tank ? The shrimp babies are very tiny and wouldn’t want them to go in it but need to clean

hi I pop a bit of clean soft cloth on the end of mine so that the dirt and excess sticks to that and the water is then cleaned, I would presume that the shrimp would sit on the cloth but not get sucked up the pipe. I dont have shrimp sorry but thats what I do for my fish so its less invasive . good luck.

Is this ok for sucking up the muck from the bottom of a pond

It actually get's quite a bit of suction after it is going. I am mainly using this for a fish tank it it does the job good so I can't comment on a pond. There is a filter on the top that only allows for small particles but you can take this off and it will take bigger particles. Just have to watch out not to suck up the fish:)

Anyone used this in a 35l or similar sized tank?

Any size tank would work. I would recommend an actual branded one like interpet. This one is not well made you'll need a bucket lower then the tank for it to work. It has a tiddlywink as a valve stopper.
